Crow Tarot: 78-Card Rider-Waite® Style Tarot Deck with Mystical Crow & Raven Artwork – Includes Guidebook, Intuitive Meanings, and Custom Spread for Beginners & Experts Review: RWS based but nice art, stock, box, size & feel - I now have all 4 crow tarots Crow’s Magick, , Urban Crow, Murder of Crows Tarot, and this, Crow Tarot. (Plus, a Raven deck lol) The lidded box is thiq n lovely, the LWB is a real mini book, the card stock is nice, gloss is slippery. I hesitated buying this one because I dislike RWS decks, and this is certainly based on the artwork in the Rider Waite Smith deck, see pic of 5 of cups above. But the artwork is lovely, the colour palette is consistent. I read cards intuitively, so I personally find reading with RWS decks limiting as you’re getting a facsimile of a fax of a fax of a copy of a facsimile which will water down your reads. If this isn’t your opinion or you dig RWS for some reason (lol) the. You’ll love the deck. I don’t, but I DO Like this deck. It is a bit of an art grab but I copied enough of that deck to allow the meaning to be transferable. The artwork is far superior to the original RWS deck!! I’ll give it 5 stars Review: Larger than average Tarot deck but lovely! - I suggest wash shuffling this deck and hand over hand. The card stock on my deck was nice and thick. I thumbed through the guidebook a little but didn't really sit and read it. It seems a decent guidebook, I would suggest for those wanting a good guidebook to actually check out some of the Fools Dog Tarot card apps or the Labyrinthos one which is really awesome and goes beyond Tarot. Some of the Tarot card apps have good guidance in them even if they don't belong to your particular decks. For size comparison I have put these cards with some of my others. Crow Tarot, RWS, Hanson Roberts, and Gypsy WItch Fortune Telling cards. What I like: Mine have a nice card stock Sturdy box for storing the cards LWB is a small book not a few pages stapled together Every card has crows no people at all It's a gender fluid deck in my opinion This deck is neutral in that there's no age or race biases What I don't particular like but is okay: The court cards especially the Queens and Kings is meh. Not a fan of the Queen and King of Wands. Both feature lions which is great but it look like the same image file was used and they just added an extra lion to one. The smell. My deck just had a stinky what I am guessing is ink ....maybe...it smells. It's not my first "stinky" deck. I just let them air out, add stronger smelling herbs to sit in an organza bag with them....star anise, clove, that sort of thing. I had a challenge on a few of the cards seeing what the number was, dark background, dark ink over it, so that was not something that I liked but I could handle. For shuffling: May be challenge for smaller hands or less agile hands. As mentioned before, wash shuffle or hand over hand if you can For energy: I felt a positive energy with this deck For how it reads: It reads very directly, not afraid to shake things up a bit, it has an it's for the better sort of feel Addressing some of the negative points of other people who have reviewed this deck: Some reviews did mention the size being comparable to an oracle size and I would agree with that The cards being distracting because of inconsistent scroll work, card colors. Personally I noticed but it didn't hold my focus. The smell but that can be worked with My take on whether this is suitable for a beginner or not: No. I don't think this is a good first deck. I feel like it lacks some of the key symbolism the RWS gives you. Yes it is based off of the RWS style but that doesn't mean that it contains all of the visual cues the RWS has. Yes, for an intermediate to advance Reader. Regardless of whether you're a by the book Reader, an intuitive Reader, or a combination of the two you need to have a good connection to the cards. I have a family love for crows so this deck really was an instant hit for me. I have included a flip through video so you can get some idea of whether this is a deck for you or not.

Beautifully, brilliant well-written, well-crafted, well-made, MJ Cullinane's Crow Tarot
MJ Cullinane is the artist/writer/author/creator/diviner of this beautiful tarot deck. I loved this whole tarot deck of cards, for this being beautifully crafted, craftsmanship. The cards are smooth to the touch, feel amazing. I loved that my spirit animal, totem, guide, Crows/Ravens/Corvids are a Rider-Waite deck (instead of using the traditional humans), they just spoke to me on so many levels, called to me, and I just had to have it. I was sooo happy to find this available in my treasure seeking, finding, universe manifesting, shopping, wishing and bought it immediately✨️ 🐦⬛🪶🃏 Sooo happy that this was available on Amazon, and came in record time, handled with care, and are currently wrapped in tarot cloth, in a tarot cloth bag, with charm, amulets/talismans, and crystal bags, in a locking storage box, with my first tarot deck (Showtime's Penny Dreadful, tv show, Vanessa Ives portrayed by Eva Green, had a tarot deck as well, and I bought this long-time ago as my first tarot deck directly from their website, so Cullinane's Crow Tarot, based upon original Rider-Waite, is technically my first real one, unless we can count Vanessa Ives Penny Dreadful one!) Regardless, my Penny Dreadful tarot deck is also wrapped in a tarot cloth in a tarot cloth bag, locked in the same locking storage box. I love my tarot decks. Great for my collection, and I love the mini Guidebook as well. I'm thinking of getting more from MJ Cullinane, the Tarot Journal, or the Extended Guidebook.

Beautiful art, well made, beginner friendly
Beautiful cards. The artwork is delightful and the cardstock is very thick and sturdy. Some have complained about the "disjointed" art with different colored borders and some cards using numerals while others have words. To me, the colors fit with the artwork, and the words vs numerals makes sense. I don't find it disjointed or distracting, at all. The cards aren't small, this is true. Read the full description, and you will know this. The info isn't hidden nor is it misrepresented in any way. I have very small hands, and the cards are bulky, but not unusable. They are sturdy but after many, many days of use they have softened a bit - not to say they are bent or dog eared or worn and frayed. They are very sturdy, but the feel has become "friendly". Or maybe my hands have just become accustomed to the size. Whatever, they have become very comfortable. No, I can't shuffle them like a deck of playing cards, but I don't do that with smaller sized decks anyway. I like to handle the cards as I slowly shift and shuffle and cut the deck into itself from hand to hand while focusing my thoughts. Card deck shuffling is impersonal and mechanical. Therefore, to me, the size is not a drawback. Do make sure you clear a good space on your altar for the spread. This is where the larger size might be a hindrance depending on the amount of room you have to work. The box is thick and holds up to repeated removal and replacing of cards. The instructional book is well written and will be easy to understand for beginners who are drawn to this deck.

Perfection!
Where to start? I read someone's 1 star review and found the opposite to be true for me. Also, I watched reviews on YouTube as well as here on Amazon prior to purchasing which I highly recommend people do with any deck they're interested in rather than buying "cold" and being disappointed with their purchase. The scroll work around the Roman numerals vs sans scrollwork: Scroll work denotes Major Arcana. The background shades are extremely subtle, look great and a place to rest the eyes from the perfect combination of collage and artwork and I find when I read a large spread like Celtic Cross, the cards form a cohesive story with no distractions. The size issue: I have many Tarot Decks that are larger than these cards and I have over 20 Oracle decks which are larger still, so size should not be an issue. Someone said they are a seasoned reader and find the imagery not so easy to read, compared perhaps, to the Rider Waite Smith deck/system. I won't argue because that's their opinion but I have found quite the opposite to be true and as a matter of fact; somehow intuition seems to work better with this deck so if someone is a Newbie reader or if someone is considering this deck for a Newbie then I would very highly encourage it. The deck comes with the "little white book" so it's very easy to learn. The symbolism is on par with the Rider Waite Smith system, just from the slightly different perspective of Crows. I gave 5 stars because 10 stars isn't an option. This decks sings to me like none of my 41 other decks and I will purchase at least one more as a backup in case something happens to the deck I have. I cannot recommend highly enough.

Beautiful Deck!
I'm still unpacking from a move... but I wanted to be able to do some readings, plus I collect interesting decks. I love the artwork and the deck's creator has a companion guidebook with some alternate reading methods as well as the usual. I've long found crows and ravens fascinating and they seem to follow me many places...so it was an easy choice. Great if you are seeking your first deck or your tenth deck.

Beautiful deck - requires some reflection to "read" the images intuitively
I bought this deck because I love Crows and was attracted to the color palette of the images. The quality of the cardstock, box, book, etc. is great. I do love the artwork, but at first, I was like, "I don't get how this image conveys the meaning of this card." However, after sitting with them a while and really trying to tease out the symbolism of colors, objects, etc. I'm warming to being able to interpret the images intuitively. I wouldn't exactly say this is a "beginner deck," but it is certainly not inscrutable.
