A very specific tool that I now cannot live without
tl;dr: If you make miso soup, you will absolutely love this product. Otherwise, it's a very specific tool that will just add to the clutter of your utensil drawer. I was watching a YT video of someone making ramen when, in the process of making the broth, they used a tool I had never seen before to add the miso. A quick 'scoop' into the miso tub, whisk into the broth, and on to other things like it was the most natural thing in the world. No mention of the tool, because why would you? I imagine in Japan these things are as common as using a measuring cup. No need to explain the obvious, right? Well... my mind was blown. Down the internet rabbit hole I went until I found 'miso whisk.' They allow you to easily 'scoop' a specific volume of miso and then whisk it into a hot liquid. No more eye-balling a tablespoon and pressing through a sieve! It's very single-purpose, but for that purpose it's perfect. I suppose you could use it as a generic mini-whisk, but I'm in camp Just-Use-A-Fork with regard to those. Yes, despite the quality construction, for what it is, it's overpriced. But if a warm cup/bowl of miso soup is a regular feature of your week, I cannot recommend this tool enough. I will always have one in my kitchen from now on.

Perfect honey scoop and tea stirrer!
I use this for miso, but also for scooping solidified honey into my tea. Perfect little tea stirrer.

GENIUS Tool!
Saw this item used on a British cooking show - Japanese - used to easily measure Miso paste. I use "Better than Bullion" frequently - REALLY love the depth it adds in a number applications. What was not easy was, getting a measured amount and cleaning out the measuring spoon. Delighted to find you simply push this into the paste, give a slight turn, and the measured amount is ready to plunge into hot water - and whisk the device clean - no fingers involved. It absolutely works as described, is well-built, and I am very happy with the purchase!

Great for miso and also a nice-sized whisk
This tool is surprisingly useful for more than just measuring miso for soup -- it's a great size between a tiny whisk and a giant one. I reach for it often.

Measure and Mix Miso Paste with ease
I waited to long to purchase one of these. Works very well for measuring and mixing Miso paste into broths and other liquids.

Cute, well designed, and makes measuring miso a breeze
I've been making way more miso soup since I got this. I don't have to think about if I'm using too much or too little. This muddler also makes dissolving very quick. Recommended.

Easy to use, and works well
Works very well to scoop a measured amount of miso out of a container, and to get it dispersed in liquid, so now I can make miso soup almost instantly without using the considerably more expensive packets of instant miso soup. It's not difficult to clean, as long as I rinse it off well right after use. This is well made, but not made with as substantial materials as the first one I bought, which is the reason I took one star off. I still like it, and use it frequently, but the sturdier one is the one I use in the travel trailer/camper. Thank you for reading my review. I hope you found it helpful.

I drink miso soup every so often, and this had made it much easier to both measure and whisk the paste without having multiple tools. Very easy to use and can be used to make sauce with other thicker pastes--I've tried both gochujang and peanut butter to great success. This has also replaced the tiny whisk I use to beat eggs and make instant drinks/soups (like black sesame porridge or hot chocolate) that tend to clump if stirred with just a regular spoon. It's a little bigger than I assumed from the picture, but the measurements are accurate and it still fits in my utensils tray with no issues. The best thing is that this whisk is very sturdy, and where the wires connect to the body is sealed tight so it's easy to wash and I don't feel like there might be gunk stuck in there. My tiny whisk has the handle that's just a wire wrapped around the core of the whisk head, which means it's hollow but too small to stick a brush into, even the small ones meant for straws. It's been annoying to try and wash it thoroughly, not to mention the small disk that holds the wire together near the bottom--impossible to actually scrub that thing. It's expensive, but it's well-made out of good materials, so I can foresee it lasting a long time.

This works great to measure and dissolve miso. Might work for other pastes but even for the single use it is worth it.

Eindeutig zu teuer, aber sehr sehr nützlich. Eignet sich auch als mini-Schneebesen für Soßen etc.
