It really works
Thi gives you the energy as if you woke up from a good nite sleep. No jitters at all. A feeling of mental clarity and well being. This is a good value as in some stores 6 is $15.00 and up. I am 83 and will not be without this.

The Best Brand and the Best Flavor of Energy Shots, Period.
As a person who has never consumed a cup of coffee or other energy drink before in his life, I can't say for certain just how effective 5-hour energy is in comparison. I can say that it worked, though -- my God, did it work. Having drunk merely half the bottle, I felt energized and ready to roll in three or four minutes. The product was true to its label in that I was able to study with concentration from 12 o'clock to 5 with no "afternoon slump" or "jitters"(though for a time I did experience a subtle tingling in my fingers). When my five hours were up, I came back to normal and didn't feel any side effects or "caffeine crash". The product is not addictive: I bought a pack of twelve bottles a month ago and still haven't used them all. 5-hour energy should be used with wisdom, however -- the manufacturers say that it contains "no more caffeine than a cup of coffee" but doesn't specify the size of the cup. It took me an hour longer than normal to get to sleep when I drank a whole bottle. That said, I have no other complaints to offer of this excellent energy drink. I suggest taking half of a bottle whenever you need a boost of concentration or motivation, as that is usually sufficient. Also, drink these only when you need to -- it's potent stuff, and I wager those little bottles can disappear quickly. 5-hour energy is a great resource for workouts, daily business, and the hurly-burly of modern life.

Better and cheaper than coffee
As I have become older in age, I felt it became difficult to wake up energized and refreshed with just 5 or 6 hours of sleep. I rarely drank coffee before my 40's. When I say rare, I mean once or none a year. About a year ago, I tried coffee regularly in the mornings, however, it really did not give me a wake up boost, or if it did, it the feeling of alertness and energy lasted 30 minutes or so. Plus, coffee made me want to urinate due to the caffeine and volume of liquid intake. Also it stains the teeth. Therefore I decided to try the 5 hour energy. From day 1, it gave me the boost that I needed in the mornings. And it last for several hours, maybe not exactly 5, but the effects are longer lasting than coffee. It's simple to prepare. Just twist the cap off even with the wrapper in place and drink either the whole bottle or half. It's that quick. No boiling water, coffee filters, or waiting for the coffee to cool down. Half a bottle is enough for me in the early morning, then I save the rest for later during the day. The 5 hour energy also doubles as my pre-energy workout drink. It gives me the power boost I need to power through my workouts even with 5 or less hours of sleep. I mentioned in the title that the 5 hour energy is cheaper than coffee. First off all, buy it from Amazon using the subscribe and save program. If you buy the 12 pack between $19 and $22, ( the price seems to fluctuate monthly), it comes to less than $2 per bottle. If you buy it from a store, it will cost about $3 and up. That's why I prefer Amazon. Now, you really only need half a bottle to start. So, let's round that off to $1 for for one serving. And if you need to drink the rest later during the day, that's another $1. If you buy coffee, which most people do, that can cost anywhere from $1 and change to perhaps $2 or $3 or more!! That's just for the morning. Most people tend to need that second cup of coffee in the afternoon, so that's another $1 to $3. Plus coffee does not give you that big boost that the 5 hour energy gives. So, if you do the math, you can see that you get more for your money with the 5 hour energy than with coffee. As far as safety goes, I have been taking 5 hour energy on a daily basis for 7 months straight. I do not notice any ill effects. Of course I do not abuse it either. The instructions clearly state not to take more than 2 whole bottles daily. Just like drinking too much coffee daily. The extremely high amounts of vitamin B is flushed out because it is water soluble. The other ingredients like tyrosine and citicoline are for giving you a feeling of alertness. There is caffeine, about 180 milligrams per bottle. Use it, don't abuse it. That's the key to keeping it safe. If you are looking for an effective alternative for coffee, I highly recommend the 5 hour energy. I do not work for 5 hour energy or Amazon, so I have no stake in this review. It is completely unbiased. This is from my personal experience with this product that I want to share with others who are seeking an energy drink.

GREAT PRODUCT
I could not imagine a day where i dont take one of these. they help me to think straight. like with other reviews, you dont take it in massive quantities. It advertises as having as much caffene as a large cup of premium coffee, but it's not just caffene in it and it specifically tells you to not exceed 2 a day. it even says take half for some energy and a full one for a lot. My point being if youre the kind of moron who thinks that it would be a great idea to pour a ton of these into a large cup and chug it, darwin has an award waiting for you in the light. back on point, this is a wonderful product for those who need caffene to wake up and keep you going. it does keep you alert and for some ive found helps to think more clearly. if you feel coffee doesnt do it for you before you try this, this product may do nothing for you as well. do not exceed the recomended dosages on the bottle. and don't drink too close to when you go to sleep at night unless you enjoy insomnia. this is a great, fast quick fix for those who dont have time to make coffee, dont have time to wait for coffee to cool, or dont have time to even drink coffee, this is literally a shot with calories per bottle and if you dont like the taste, ive found mixing it with fruit juice helps it taste better. even watering it down tastes better.

Works as advertised, but...
I see this stuff everywhere obviously, but never have serious given it a try. I haven't tried it because I am normally a coffee drinker and enjoy my Starbucks. I never seriously saw the need for 5 hours of energy because I just sip my coffee throughout the morning. I bought this based on recommendation from someone at work. PROS: It tasted pretty good, particularly after I chilled it in the refrigerator. In the morning, I decided to skip the Starbucks and go straight for the 5 hour energy. Sheeesh, this stuff is powerful! I thought Starbucks gave me a jolt over the regular cup of coffee. I think it is because of the shot format. It did keep me going until about 2 PM, or after lunch, when I started to be drowsy, because it wore off... CONS: I started getting heart palpitations! Yes, this stuff had a kick to it, but it was way to much for me. I read more about the 5 hour energies and other energy drinks an it seemed that people can actually die from this! Scary stuff. I talked to a maintenance guy in our building and he gets the heart palpitations too and his cardiologist told him to quit it or he'll die young. I'm not sure I want to risk it. Personally, I prefer my cup of Starbucks in the morning and when I get the post-lunch sleepies, I go for CLAREX, a caffeine-free mental recovery formula. This regimen of coffee in the AM and Clarex in the PM works perfectly, no palpitations and allows me to sleep well at night too.

The hubby swears by this product
There are a couple of uses this product is given at my house. My husband swears by it so much that we actually have the "Subscribe & Save" option for it (we get 2 12-packs every month). He uses them when he's going to go out drinking with his buddies to avoid the next day hangover. I've tried it for this purpose too but I couldn't vouch for it as much as he does because I've never experienced a real hangover just the occasional headache which I fix with a couple of aspirin. He did use to get the whole spectrum of the hangover rainbow symptom (vomiting, nausea, headache, sensitivity to light and sound, dizziness, etc). He swears that ever since he started drinking 5-hour energy before a night of drinking he's reduced his next day symptoms. I do see him a bit more functional the next day and whether it's a placebo effect or an actual effect of 5-hour energy is disputable of course but I'm not claiming scientific certainty just personal experience. He also uses them in place of coffee when he's in a hurry and doesn't have time to make coffee. Coffee in our household is more of an enjoyment but of course we do have the little caffeine habit that affects our productivity. I actually do feel the same replacing one of these for a cup of coffee but nothing bits the deliciousness of a cup of coffee (the flavor of this thing is mediocre at best and absolutely horrendous at worst). I've actually made the mistake of mixing a cup of coffee with one of these and I did feel jittery but if you just take the 5-hour energy without extra caffeine you should be OK. Of course if you are pretty much immune to caffeine at this point, both products at the same time won't make much of a difference. I would be careful to drink more than two per day just because of the amount of vitamins contained in it. You never know what kind of side effects you can get from OD'ing on vitamins. If you can get past the horrible flavor, I'd recommend it, otherwise stick to coffee.

These are great and with subscribe n save its cheaper than buying at Sams Club
Both my girlfriend and I use these, not everyday but those days when you know you need something to help get you going or days when we work overtime. I have to say they do work, some days we split one to save a little more but I have to say they do work, I asked my doctor if they were safe and he said sure when used in moderation as with everything else. The plus side is you do get a boost of vitamins that you dont when drinking coffee. When we started buying them it was at the local convenience store but at $3-$4 each it was getting expensive. Found them in a local Sams Club for like $39.99 + local tax for a case of 24 and started buying there but that makes it $42.39 for a case. It was nice to see them on amazon Subscribe n Save auto shipment for about $38.xx so almost saving another $5. Nice thing is we have it setup where we get another case right before the previous runs out. Thanks Amazon. One thing I would like is for amazon to offer the pomegranate in the subscribe and save but thats all.
