Prepac Sonoma Traditional Nightstand Side Table with 2 Drawers, Functional 2-Drawer Bedside Table 16" D x 23.25" W x 21.75" H, Black, BDC-2422

I purchased this to match one I found at a thrift store, and it turned out to be the exact same item! It’s very cute and offers decent quality for the price. My only issue is that not all parts were labeled, but everything was included and could be assembled without too much trouble.

I put this nightstand together tonight. Maybe 3-4 hours but it took me awhile to get the right tools and charge my drill. So probably realistically 2 hours tops by myself. It was easy to put together, everything measured up AND all the nuts and bolts were there plus extra! I loved that! It was a just in case! You don't need a drill, it just sped up the process. The quality is really good! Nothing was banged up or scratched. It was real wood!! I have never done a review right after I put getting the item, but I was just so excited about how good it looks!

So I purchased two of these to go with the Prepac king-size platform bed and headboard (which I have not received yet). I just finished building them so this is very fresh in my mind. First of all, the packaging is great and thorough. No way these are going to get damaged unless there are some negligent UPS people... All the parts were there and there were extra nails and some of the drawer-type screws included in case you had an accident or lost some. I will say that I consider myself an expert in building furniture of this type and enjoy the process. That being said, I can imagine some having a little trouble with assembly, only because the instructions are not perfect. Now I have never seen perfect instructions, so I was ready for that... but still... you'd think they'd try to get every detail down. Even so, I found assembly to be relatively easy, although time consuming. For myself, again I consider myself an expert, it took me almost an hour and a half to build the first one. For a complete amateur, I'd give yourself at least two hours. Once I figured it all out, I was able to build the second one in less than half my time for the first and almost not needing the directions... so take that into consideration. There are simply a lot of parts and you spend time interpreting the instructions carefully and making sure that finished sides are facing correctly etc. Now in most cases, there is only one way it can go, so I see why they left that out... but still... make it easy on everyone! Now once it's complete, I'll say that it looks very nice and seems to be well-made and quite sturdy - that is except for the inside of the drawers. This is the only reason I give the piece 4 stars instead of 5. The drawer fronts are fine and seem high-quality like the rest of the pieces. The drawer insides are made of this wood that's so flimsy to the touch I was afraid of touching it too hard. It basically felt like balsa wood. So I was EXTREMELY careful putting the drawers together... they went together fine and the pre-drilled holes on them (and on everything else as well) were perfectly aligned so the completed piece looks very finished and straight in all respects. I have to decide how much I actually want to put inside these drawers as again I'm afraid they'll break... For the price I was expecting low quality. Most pieces are higher quality than I expected, so I was going for 5 stars. The drawer pieces are so cheap though it lowers my rating by one. Since I won't be lookng at the inside of the drawers anymore though, I'd definitely recommend this piece for the budget conscious. I'm sure they will be in our bedroom for many years to come (or until we get richer and can afford real-wood furniture that we don't have to put together!) You won't be disappointed. And lastly, they include a matching marker pen to fill in any scuffs or mistakes that works perfectly. Nice touch. There were no marks on it from packaging and shipping, but I made a couple nicks putting them together, and this pen was very welcome!

Great quality. Well functioning and sturdy. Followed the instructions without difficulty (just be sure to set aside enough time and follow pgotos closely). I used a hammer, screwdriver, and drill. If I didnt have my drill it would have a bit more difficult as you may imagine. Also I would note TWO options came in the box for the bottom look of the table (you may notice 2 different looks in other folks review photos). I really liked that as well.

These are very cute and elegant. A bit hard to assemble but not too bad. Color is similar to the picture. Great size!

These nightstands are beautiful and seemed to be exactly what I was looking for, but they leave much to be desired. The units themselves are heavy and very sturdy once they are put together and I'm sure they would stand the test of time... if not for the extremely delicate finish. It scratches easily, it will likely come to you scratched and with pieces flaking off here and there. The included marker does a good job of hiding small imperfections like this, but I can only pray that it holds up to regular use in my bedroom. The majority of my house is filled with ikea furniture; i am no stranger to assembly or unclear directions. Still, these took me a total of three hours to assemble together. Paying very careful attention got me most of the way there, but there is a specific instruction for constructing the front of the frame that shows a piece facing frontways when it should have been the other way around. This wouldn't be a major problem, except for the fact that this particular piece uses dowels, so it is impossible to remove it from the unit once you've realized your error. I had to make good use of the black marker to only-sort-of camouflage the long tan line on the very front of this nightstand. I was even particularly careful to read the instructions at this point because I wanted to avoid this exact problem, so you can imagine my disappointment. There are also several points where you can see the unfinished boards when you look at the unit from an angle. You will probably want to use the markers there as well. I plan to keep them just because they do still look very nice, and I can only imagine how much of a headache it would be to disassemble and return them. I'll update this review after I've had them for a few months.

Arrived missing parts, very frustrating. Screws are missing and I can’t fully secure bottom drawer

Given the price, I find these nightstands to be an excellent value. They are solid, well made, and very straightforward to assemble. Having purchased an awful lot of "you assemble it" furniture, and online goods generally, let me first say that I was astounded at the packaging. I recently purchased an unrelated item and had to do two returns before getting an undamaged product! These nightstands were beautifully packaged with the appropriate strength cardboard and internal packing materials. That may sound like a different issue than the nightstands themselves, but it made all the difference in what I found when I examined the pieces. I will say that one of the boxes was missing some dowels and there was a small nick on a piece that had to have occurred prior to boxing. I called the number provided and was pleasantly told that the missing and replacement pieces would be shipped immediately. I can't recall the last time I experienced such exceptional service. Having received the parts and completed assembly, I have to say that these are fabulous nightstands. The drawers are generous and slide nicely, the finish is great. If I could change one thing with an of this type of furniture it would be to design and different kind of backing than one you nail on. I don't know what that would be be, but I really don't like having to nail into the narrow piece of product. Nonetheless, I will highly recommend PrePac from here on out.

Great product, don’t get me wrong but nothing was labeled, so trying to follow the instructions was hard and it wasn’t to scale. The only thing we found was a L and R stamp on a couple pieces.

Great product, well designed. Particle board is top notch as well as the wood components. Takes about 1.5 hrs to assemble.
