Solid SanDisk SD Card Reader
The SanDisk SD UHS-I Card Reader is a straightforward and reliable accessory for anyone needing to transfer photos and files from SD cards. It's a consistently good product that simply works. This reader handles UHS-I SD cards efficiently, providing decent transfer speeds that are perfectly adequate for everyday photo and video transfers to a computer. Its compact, black design makes it unobtrusive and easy to carry. It's a plug-and-play device, requiring no drivers, making it incredibly easy to use. The quality feels durable for a small peripheral. For its dependable performance and practicality, it offers good value. I recommend this reader for its simplicity and reliability, and it's a product I would buy again.

Very Useful
My PC does not have a SD card slot by default, this adapter allowed me to transfer photos from my camera.Pros:The build quality is good, although a little plasticky and it shows fingerprints very easily, but they wipe away.It is very well built for the price, and it looks very sleek and has a compact design so it’s not too obtrusive.Cons:The only con is that it has no cord length so if it’s on a rear USB port it cannot be accessed easily. I can forgive this as I understand that it is intended for use with laptops that do not have an SD adapter, and I only plug it in when it is in use so there is no issue.

A tiny device that still performs well.
It's just a card reader, so most of the time you shouldn't have to think about it, and so far I don't. It just works, and when I ran some speed tests it was able to read and write as fast as the card inserted would allow, which is all you can ask. It feels solid and well made in spite of its diminutive size and low price. I've never had a dud SanDisk product and this confirms my choice.I did not have the problem mentioned by previous reviewers with cards being an excessively tight fit, so maybe I was lucky and maybe SanDisk fixed the issue in later production batches.Compact, efficient and inexpensive, so yes, recommended.

Inexpensive and works best with Sandisk cards (unsurprisingly)
The plus side of this SD card reader is that it is compatible with the new 170MB/s cards. These Sandisk cards can only sustain this read speed using proprietary readers like this one. In a normal SD card reader the speeds will be like the older 95MB/s cards. So that's one big advantage.However. The reason I don't really like this reader and deducted a star is that I find it hard to get cards in/out. This one isn't as bad as the UHS-2 version though. It's still a little stiff but the other was so bad, I was worried I'd break the card.

Don't be put off
I was initally put off buying this due to the numerous reviews saying how badly the cards fit in these but after shopping around for a better alternative I couldn't find anything anymore trustworthy so I decided to risk going with one of these and I'm really glad I did because it is brilliant. Yes, the card could fit in a bit nicer but it is by no means a big issue, not with the one I got anyway, I guess some might be worse than others. It was particularly reluctant to go in the first time but now I've used it a few times it seems to be getting easier to insert.I wanted one these because I've just bought a Lumix S5 and the video files that produces can be massive so I needed something a bit quicker than the built in SD card slot on my iMac. I did a quick transfer test with a 4gb video file from the SD card to to my 2017 iMac SSD via the built in SD card slot, here are the results:iMac SD card slot: 42 secondsSanDisk SD card reader: 23 secondsSo a massive improvement in transfer speeds, almost twice as fast which is just what I was after, couldn't ask for anything more, great product.

Works very well.
Mine worked so well I bought another. I noticed in some reviews it is mentioned that the card is 'too snug a fit' and 'difficult to remove'. I had the same problem and to get rounds it I used a small pair of surgical forceps, which cost just under £6.00 from Amazon. They are good for quite a few other jobs too.
