My favorite American chemical sunscreen
This is my absolute favorite American chemical sunscreen, and honestly one of my top 5 overall favorites. The spf 30 is formulated beautifully and seems to provide good uva protection. I’m whiiiiiite (like Fitzpatrick 2 or 3). I definitely don’t burn and I hardly freckle when I wear this and reapply. The higher spfs from this line always leave weird residue in my eyebrows, but not this one. It’s thinner, more water-like. It’s not sticky or shiny or gooey. It’s not super matte either. It just feels and looks like nothing honestly.I do avoid putting it under my eyebrows/on my eyelids because it stings if it gets in my eyes. But that is the case for me with all chemical sunscreens. (I just use a mineral sunscreen near my eyes - no big deal for me.)I’d prefer if it were fragrance free, just to avoid risking any sort of irritation but the scent isn’t bad at all. It’s mild and clean. (And I’ve never had a reaction to this product. I’ve used it on and off for at least 5 years.)I double cleanse to remove it. Either face oil followed by a foaming cleanser or micellar water followed by a foaming cleanser.I’ll apply + reapply this bad boy 3-4 times over the course of a day and it’a great. No pilling. No gooeyness. No breakouts. Nothing funky. Just a good sunscreen.*My husband also uses and likes it. It doesn’t leave weird residue in his beard stubble or make his face oily. He has combo/oily skin and mine is more dry to normal. We both like it even though our skin is different.Anyway, if you’re in the market for an American sunscreen with good uva protection, no white cast, no greasiness, and no funky feel on the skin, this might be worth a try.Just don’t get it in your eyes!

LOVE the total sun protection and waterproof performance of this sunscreen.
This stuff works. We spent 8 days on the Colorado river in intense, mid-July (Mojave) sun, and our whole family never got even a hint of sunburn. And of course we got splashed a lot, so we were able to prove out its water-resistance. It lasted for hours. This version of Neutrogena's sunscreen has Zinc, which I've heard that most experts believe is the least chemically invasive and most effective sunscreen ingredient. Note that it does go on thick, as most Zinc sunscreens do, so it takes a little rubbing in. But it's amazingly effective.

Best Product for Redheads with Sensitive Skin
Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-touch Sunscreen is the only sunscreen I’ve used in the last 7+ years that has prevented me — a sensitive skin, natural redhead with prior Stage 1 melanoma — from being burned while having to be in the sun. As a redhead, I burn after being in midday sun for 10 minutes. Prior to using Neutrogena, I tried every sunscreen under the sun — (Adult, sport, baby, sensitive skin — every type I could find because I was desperate to avoid melanoma again as well as sun poisoning, sunspots, wrinkles, etc) Bullfrog, Banana Boat, Sun Bum, Aveeno, Coppertone, Ocean Potion, Hawaiian Tropic, and Kiehl’s to other more pricey sunscreens — and none of them have worked as well as this product. I apply sunscreen before before going into the sun, then reapply the same lotion sunscreen or their spray (30-45 spf) hour to two hours and I do not burn. I had used their 55, 70 and 100 spf in the past but it isn’t as sheer as the 30 and 45 spf and once I noticed the 45 spf (and 30 spf unless I’m at the beach or snowboarding midday which can sometimes lead to a light burn which is the reason I opt for 45 spf when heading to the beach or snowboarding) was just as effective, I discontinued use of the higher spf versions.I go through one of these every two times I’m in the pool for more than three or four hours and it’s worth every penny.Prior to my melanoma diagnosis, I had started seeing a dermatologist every year at the age of 16 for suspect spots that had to be scraped and tested ( there were never less than two spots they had to scrape each year despite me using sunscreen religiously because I would still get burned at the beginning of each summer). They found the melanoma when I was 26. Continued having suspect spots for two years following. Found this product and for seven years now, I’ve only had to have one spot scraped. All this said, this stuff works!

GREAT SUNSCREEN
Purchased the 30 SPF as I am a golfer and need to protect my skin. One application to face, neck and arms gives 4-5 hour protection, even with plenty of perspiration on hot days. It is non greasy, non sticky and has a pleasant, light fragrance. Would highly recommend and perhaps use the 50 SPF if your skin of especially delicate.

This is a good sun screen with a light tint.
This is a great lightweight screen. There are times is like a little more tint, but I can use a little makeup with it.

The Best for Oily or Combination Skin
My daughter and I have searched for a sunscreen that both of us would like, and never found one that was completely satisfactory. She has oily skin prone to breakouts, and mine is combination. Every one we tried always left a greasy feel and look to the face, even the ones that were supposed to be oil-free.Finally, I came across a review of this product on Paula Begoun's website ([...] The review sounded good, so I went out and bought some right away. My daughter and I both LOVE this product! It's the only sunscreen we have ever used that doesn't leave a greasy feel or look to the skin. It dries to a matte finish, and works very, very well under foundation, too. Without foundation, there is no need to use powder to kill the shine. And it feels so light on the skin, you barely know it's there! If you have oily or combination skin and have never found a sunscreen that doesn't look and feel greasy, try this one! It's the best!
