Top quality and demonstrates some shading without being weak
Diamine is a british manufacturer solely for fountain pen inks, a range most available including about 30 colours across several colour groups and available in standard 80ml bottles and 30 ml 'samplers' and several also in cartridges in the 'International Standard' format suited to several US and European brands of fountain pen and especially most of Chinese and Japanese origin; the quality of ink and the amount filled per cartridge is far superior to the oriental equivalents. The inks are generally easy-flowing and some of the lighter colours have transparency and also reflect some shading within their strokes which is only sometimes visible with this grey which is a little too deep to show it clearly. The Diamine Grey is the sole 'light black' (not their choice of words) representative in their complete range and a fairly dark neutral tone in appearance. There are very few alternatives and some too weak to be useful. The Diamine brand is affordable and of excellent quality. Tthere are several on-line sources should you need them. The colour is sufficiently different and distinctive for it to be noticed.

Very happy with my purchase.
First time I have brought ink over cartridges, it was a tough choice from the overwhelming range of colours from Diamine, settled on the Imperial Purple. It's a lovely colour, very rich, flows well, dries quickly. I will definitely be trying other colours from Diamine in the future. I would definitely recommend to any fountain pen user. 5 stars.

A lovely fountain pen ink, gorgeous colour and flows well without being too wet.
Is a lovely ink, I've tested this in a Pilot ME Retro with a fine nib as well as a Parker Classic with a medium nib. Ink flows well without being too wet, dries well, but this is summer. I've tested on a range of different weigh papers and there isn't any discernable bleed through even on the lightest of them. It has a gorgeous, proper vibrant, orange colour. A lovely shaped, 80ml bottle as well.

Ink, Ink glorious ink.
There are many makes of ink, many are not made by the company on the label but are simply brought in and re labeled. But of those who do make their own ink, I have tried Aurora ink from Italy, (who some think make the best black ink), or French ink by J.Herbin, who have been making ink since 1670. I have finally plumped for ink by Diamine because it seems to suit my pens best. This ink is made in England, up north in Liverpool. They have been making ink since 1864. It is an ink that flows well, They produce a lovely range of colours, they also make lawyers ink that is waterproof and a number of other types. The 80ml size comes in a nice glass bottle, the 30ml one in a small plastic bottle. Put some colour in to your writing, give it a go.

Really Black
Out of my medium nib pen which is quite wet this leaves wonderful jet black writing, I'm left handed and the quick drying time is very much apricated

This is the first Diamine ink colour that didn’t wow me. My swatches look like dried blood and there’s no intensity in the pen strokes. The price was okay and I will use the ink for art projects, but the insipid colour surprised me. It looks okay on watercolour paper, but is less interesting in a journal which took work to get any intensity. Ancient Copper is more interesting, and still not my favourite but more enjoyable than this.

It flows so beautifully, the color is gorgeous. Will buy more colors.

El color es intenso, y la tinta parece un poco densa, no hace ni un parche, ni salta, no la he probado mucho, pero en un par de hojas A5 no me hizo ni un salto. Seguro que cogeré alguna más de la marca. Me ha encantado.

This ink is really very beautiful and is near to turquoise color. Moreover, you get 80 ml of this ink which I think is really a good deal . A must use ink with pilot, lamy fountain pens.

I was very disappointed when I received this ink to see that it was brown. Very, very distinctly brown. I was about two weeks past the return window when I opened the bottle, so I chalked it up to a loss. A year later, I see a post on Reddit from someone else baffled that their Autumn Oak was brown. I emailed Diamine to ask if they knew what was causing the inconsistent colors - and even though I made it clear that I was fine and had purchased the ink a full year previously, they sent a new bottle out. It's glorious and exactly the color I had been searching for last year. It shades beautifully in any pen, but put it in a flex pen and it's like jumping into a pile of maple leaves on a crisp fall afternoon. You can practically smell autumn. I'm absolutely thrilled with it, and while the brown ink I originally received is actually fairly nice, true Autumn Oak blows it out of the water. It even looks differently in the bottle. My conclusions are that either I received a bottle that was improperly stored and had oxidized (see the last photo for someone else's experience) or that it had been purchased, tampered with or switched for another ink, and returned. It's drastically different from the stuff Diamine sent me directly. Given that other reviews here are largely positive, all I can say is check your ink before the return window closes. I definitely would have rated this product lower last year, but Diamine's customer service is flawless. Hopefully it's just a fluke on Amazon's part, rather than poor storage conditions that may affect other people looking to buy this lovely ink.
