Got this for my classroom because it’s portable and easy to put away. I can give it to students as a reward when they earned some free time and the pieces are magnetic so less chance of running away. Great functionality for what I need because I need it to be able to pack away easily and be stored without hassle. I think it’s a great value for that. Could also be a great gift especially for kids who travel or chess lovers that need portability. Nice design and looks sleek. Definitely recommend this set.

I’m a college student who decided to join a chess club during my senior year. Since I’m graduating soon and don’t know how serious I’m gonna be about chess, I didn’t want to buy one of the <$100 chess sets. I really wanted something portable and the magnetic addition seemed pretty novel in helping maintain an organized playing field even when playing outdoors in the wind and such. From what I could tell, there were 2 prominent companies that sell portable, magnetic, chess boards on here. ASNEY edged out slightly higher in terms of reviews but they’re also a little more expensive than the other option. (Not by much, but remember I’m a college student so small price differences are still a big deal). I went ahead and purchased this product from ASNEY and it arrived quickly. It came with everything as advertised (bag, board, extra king and queen of each color). The hard foam cutouts hold the pieces very nicely and I much prefer this storage option over the elastic strap option from the other previously mentioned company. I did find a cut in the board and some issues with some pieces that had the felt peeling back on the bottom. I emailed the company and they responded in less than 12 hours. I took pictures of the issues and was prepared to return the product for an exchange, but the ASNEY rep insisted on just sending me a whole new set without the need to return the product or send pictures of the issues. This level of customer service is rare, which is why this is 1 of only 4 reviews that I’ve written out of the numerous products I’ve purchased from Amazon. The replacement board came in today and it is flawless. It came with all the regular pieces and an extra set of queens in each color. It did not contain an extra king in each color or another carry bag, but the original ones are in perfect condition so that isn’t much of an issue. I got a lot of compliments on this chessboard when I took it to my first club meeting and I tell everyone that purchasing this product is well worth it with regards to quality assurance and customer service. I’m very happy with this product, and am hopeful that this review provides insight in helping future chess players who are on the fence between this chess set and others.

Great Chess Board Set. Taught my niece how to play chess on this board. I love how it looks and how it keeps all the pieces organized and together. The inside has a foam cutout for the pieces to return to. There are a couple extra pieces of king and queen for promoting a pawn. There’s a replacement order card for missing, damaged or lost pieces. It included an instruction manual for playing chess: how the chess pieces moves, discover special rules of chess, study basic chess strategies, and how to place the chess pieces on the board. We’ve been playing chess it for while. The magnets in the bottom of the pieces is a must so that the pieces stays on the board. Convenient when we had to move the board. The wooden chess board has 2 gold latches to keep the box closed. The wooden chess kit come in a sturdy cardboard and makes it easy to store the chess kit in. This is a great wooden chess board kit and will last for a very long time. It will provide many wonderful chess game memories. I highly recommend and will probably buy another set as a gift.

Pro: Die Schachfiguren sind schön gestaltet und gut verarbeitet. Sie sehen hochwertig aus und fühlen sich auch so an. Die Figuren sind magnetisch, was besonders beim Spielen unterwegs praktisch ist, da sie sicher auf dem Brett bleiben. Das Set kommt mit einem praktischen Beutel, in dem das Schachbrett verstaut werden kann. Dies macht den Transport einfach und sicher. Es gibt ausreichend Stauraum im Schachbrett für alle Figuren, was die Aufbewahrung erleichtert und dafür sorgt, dass keine Figur verloren geht. Außerdem sind Ersatzfiguren enthalten, was ein netter Bonus ist und für den Fall, dass mal eine Figur verloren geht, sehr praktisch ist. (Dame und König) Contra: Ein kleiner Nachteil ist, dass die Felder des Schachbretts nicht beschriftet sind. Für erfahrene Spieler ist das kein großes Problem, aber Anfänger könnten es hilfreich finden. Die Magnete in den Figuren sind teilweise lästig, weil sich die Figuren manchmal gegenseitig anziehen, was beim Spielen störend sein kann. Leider hatte mein Brett ein paar kleinere Macken, wie auf dem Bild zu sehen ist. Das beeinträchtigt zwar nicht das Spiel, ist aber dennoch unschön. Insgesamt ist das ASNEY Schachbrett ein schönes und funktionales Set, das sich besonders für den mobilen Einsatz eignet. Trotz kleinerer Mängel kann ich es aufgrund der guten Verarbeitung und der praktischen Features weiterempfehlen.

Le magnétique marche bien, il est joli avec son petit côté ancien. Pratique avec le rangement et la sacoche. Bonne taille, bien fini et le prix est correct.
