I very much like this radio. I needed one to get into rc and this is what I seen constantly popping up. I love it. Still figuring some things out about it but its very user friendly. I did have a problem at the start that locked it up but I found out it wanted me to simply hit all the buttons to check and make sure they were working. I seen that aparently it gos threw alot of power? However I have not had that issue. Iv flown probably 20-30 times now and according to the monitor its only at half charge so no issues there. Binds easilly to umx a10 and the umx turbo timber without issue. The only real issue I have is that the safe mode switch on channel A came loose for both mine and my fathers radio however it simply can be screwed back in without issue. If your reading reviews and are worried like I was. All I can say is its a reliable radio thats easy to set up and use with almost any e flite models. I havent tried with other brands but e flite has had 0 issues. If your new dont worry just get it and if you have any issues horizon hobbys customer service is great and happy to help.

This DX6e replaces my DX6i which was failing me by losing its bind to my receivers and servos reversing on power up. Since I began using the DX6e there has been no loss of bind and no servo reversal. There is a bit of a learning curve navigating the programming, but once you've done it's no problem. The 250 model memory may seem like overkill, but the DX6i had only ten, and I have now more than 10 models ready to fly, all with Spectrum receivers. It is a 6 channel radio which is more than I need, so it was a bargain at $240 since more channel transmitters can cost upward of $400.

Seems well built, I manually entered the serial number after trying the sd card route, pay attention to the instruction on letter representation on the serial number, will make things go easier, I got mine done but it took a few times. Putting the serial number on registration gives a year warranty, so worth doing.

If you find yourself making a choice. Between this and a dxe as a starting controller definitely pick this one up. It supports many more aircraft compared to the dxe and is much easier to program not requiring a phone or pc. You can also easily swap airplanes on the fly! This is something the Dxe just can’t do well, needing a phone and a eighteen dollar dongle. With the dx6e that’s all built in and easy to use. You can also store binds for multiple aircraft and have SD card support if one hundred airplanes isn’t enough for you. Updating is easy and you get to use your spektrum account for the newest firmware. Also unlike the dxe you get access to programming for flaperons and V-tail. Mixing is also easy to work with. To sum it up, Though it’s priced higher then the dxe. You get much more bang for your Buck. Even if you already have a dxe, it’s well worth the upgrade as it’ll make your RC flying life much easier.

I’m not real technical but with the help of YouTube an just spending time using unit have been able to load my 7 planes in radio with great success, nice radio for me. Recommend adding rechargeable battery pack though, it eats up AA batteries, especially in colder weather flying.

I’ve been a hobbyist for quite a while but when I got into drones and helicopters the transmitters seemed to be pretty complicated. I started with a terranis x9d+ and was told to try spektrum. The dx6e proved to be much easier to set up abs I recommend this radio for all beginners to intermediate flyers

This is perfect for controls of over 11 types of Aircrafts. Ease of use by and understanding the standings. Great beginner and intermediate radio. Highly recommend!!!!!

I have been using Spektrum since they first came out and fell in love with the 2.4 transmitters. I have since purchased nothing but Spektrum with great success. HOWEVER I work with a youth outreach for radio control, and I wanted a set of Spektrum radios for the wireless buddy box system. I purchased a NX8 a few months ago and last week ordered and received a DX6e upon trying to get it to work I noticed that the screen was defective and showed black lines through the screen and when traversing through the menus there was a delay and fading between screens. I returned the defective radio by dropping it off at a UPS store and to my amazement another new one was delivered the next day,. Unfortunately it was also defective. I tried to find a contact number to reach Spektrum but there is no phone number that I can find. I would not buy this product at this time, Amazon should remove it from their store until Spektrum can resolve their bad batch of Spektrum DX6e radios. UPDATE: I received a message from Horizon Hobbies/Spektrum stating that the radios have an issue with the screens when used in cold weather. I live in the high desert, and it gets cold here and I fly in the cold. upon further testing I found that the screen fades at around 50 and below which is not acceptable to me. I thought I would try the DX8e but found the same issue. Spektrum cheeped out on the screens to increase profits.
