LUCID 2 Inch Zoned Gel Memory Foam Mattress Topper, Twin

I’ve had this since 2020 before Covid. My bed was old and the springs were starting to dig into me. I thought this would be a quick fix. It helped so much and made my bed sooo comfy. I couldn’t feel my springs anymore. A month later my dad surprised me with a new bed and the two paired together sooo well. My new bed was Firm but at the same time very squishy. When i added this pad it just did sooo much for me. It’s made my sleep the past 4 years the best. I love just sinking into my bed and falling asleep fast. Everyone loves my bed that sits or sleeps on it. My boyfriend has a very comfy bed but thinks mine is better and falls asleep very fast. I always get asked what kind of mattress i have. When i got this it was $20, now it’s $33 which is still a great price for quality! It’s not very thick but does sooo much and i couldn’t live without out. It has minor wear and tear. Just a few little stretch rips between some grooves from my dog. You can’t feel any difference though. I thought maybe the grooves would bother me but honestly i don’t feel them! I’m surprised it still feels brand new and hasn’t thinned out. I have a bed casing protector and it fits perfectly under that. Even when i didn’t have one it didn’t move around or anything. My dog hogs my bed and favors my bed over his expensive memory foam bed that was way pricier than this lol! It’s also very cooling. In the winter i sleep with a heavy blanket and the heat blasted and it keeps me cool. In the summer I still sleep with a heavy blanket and it keeps me cool. I just highly recommend and doubt you’ll be disappointed with this purchase! I searched for this in my orders forever just to write this review! I was wondering if they still made these cause i’m thinking about getting a bigger bed and won’t if i can’t get this. Thought it very much deserved this review!! Also i’ve never tried washing it i’ve never needed to. It does wonder for my back pain as well!

Why did you pick this product vs others?: I wish I could give them 10 stars! Aside from the amazing comfort (for this side-sleeper), you can use it straight out of the box, as it has no toxic odor. I bought my first Lucid topper about five years ago. Amazon sent me the wrong one (I didn't want cooling gel with it), so I contacted Lucid and their customer service team was amazing! I ended up keeping the one they sent me and am still loving it. Originally, my queen topper was to stretch the life of a cheap IKEA mattress that was sagging on one side and it worked so well you couldn't even tell it was sagging. Eventually, we got a new mattress and my husband said he didn't want so much cushion (3"), so I cut it in half and am still enjoying the cushion my hips need. The other half (cot-sized when purchasing half queen sheets) I squeeze into a duffel bag and take on lengthy vacations. It saved me last year on a six week Asia trek that included some pretty rough mattresses. Since then, I ordered a 2" queen while staying at my in-law's house and two twins for my guest room, which allowed me to get cheaper mattresses.

My first impression on this 2 inch mattress topper is great overall. We have a queen mattress that is getting to be lumpy/stiff (bad combo). This topper is like we have a brand new mattress! I will update this as time goes on and we use this more. So far, I will say this was a GREAT purchase. the 2 inch topper is extremely cozy without being suffocating. I think 3 inches would be good for those with back issues/pain, but I feel very happy about having the 2inch. It is not flat at all. Plus if you don’t like the grooves, you can use the smooth side instead! Coolness was my major reason for buying this one. My husband gets very hot when he sleeps. Which makes me hot, and makes me not able to sleep. To be honest I am not blown away by the coolness of the topper. I do think compared to a regular mattress it is cooler (or takes longer to become warm from body heat). But it is not going to make your bed feel like it’s sitting on ice. I’d strongly recommend getting a cover for this topper if you or someone else is a sweaty sleeper, it seems like it’d soak up sweet like a sponge (which would begin to smell). But if I had to rate the coolness of this vs my regular mattress: topper is a 7 and mattress is a 5. There was a slight odor with this. I was able to air it out in my guest room, but if you cannot I would suggest maybe opening a window for a few minutes. The smell is not horrible. It just smells like a factory and fades quickly. I also sprayed mine down with fabric refresher and it smells wonderful. But…try it!!! I highly recommend it.

I’ve bought many foam covers over the years and this one by far has been the best. It is super comfortable. It feels like I’m floating on air. I have problems with both my shoulders and hips and I found immediately improvement in the quality of my sleep.

As someone who is constantly plagued with insomnia and rarely gets 8 hours per night(I’m like a 5-6 hour person), this mattress topper has been a game changer. I usually always toss and turn multiple times throughout the night and have trouble falling back asleep when waking up in the middle of the night, but this mattress topper has provided sooooo much comfort that I rarely toss and turn anymore. I’ve only had it a couple of weeks now, but the quality of my sleep has already improved since I’m sleeping more consistently throughout the night. Even when I do wake up, I’m able to go back to sleep more easily. Now I just need a better comforter and I can probably finally get that 8 hours consistently, but this was a great start :) I’ll try to remember to update this about 6 months from now to see how it’s holding up. I’d definitely recommend the 3”. That’s what I have and it feels like sleeping on a cloud!

The reason I gave this 3 stars is because of the lavender. Don't get me wrong, I used to love lavender. I am not sensitive to smells and could live in Bath and Body works, but this was horrible. We ordered this because of all the great reviews and it is a great mattress pad. My back pain has gone away. Comfort, I give it 5 stars hands down. So why the 3 star rating. Here's why. I opened it and the smell slapped me in the face. It was very overpowering. My poor cat would not come in the room. I let it air out and fluff for almost 8 hours if not longer. I was excited to sleep on my new mattress pad. Well, sleep was not easy. The lavender was so strong, I could taste it. It gave me the worse headache. I tossed and turned all night long and woke with my nose stopped up. I coughed all day and could still taste that horrible smell. Night 2: I put a towel under my pillow to try to mask the smell but that didn't help. Every time I moved or my husband moved, I was slapped with more lavender. My nose burned and started to drain down my throat, which in turn gave me a sore throat. (Cat still won't enter room) Day 3: I contemplate sleeping on the couch just to clear my head and nasal passage. But I have a leather couch and didn't want to play slip and slide all night, so I once again laid in lavender hell. (At this point, I am contemplating sending it back) Day 4: my nasal passage is swollen shut and I can not longer smell lavender or anything else at this point. Sleep is not happening because I can't breathe, but according to hubby, the smell is fading. (Cat stares at me from doorway) After a week, my nasal passages return to normal and lavender smell is gone. I now enjoy an amazing night's sleep and wake up pain free. This mattress does exactly what is says, it comforts your body. (Cat has return back to the bed) If you are sensitive to smells, this mattress will kill you. Buy the one without lavender. If you aren't sensitive to smells, like me, this mattress may just beat you up for a few days with the smell. All in all, it's a great mattress. I plan to order 1 for each of my children (without the lavender smell) Thanks to this mattress, if I never smell lavender again, I will be ok. Update: it's been 3 1/2 months and the pad has started to rip. The weird part is the part that is ripping is at the foot of the bed. Not where actually lay. We very rarely sit on the edge of the bed. Not as durable as I had hoped.

I bought this for my 9 year old. My spouse and I recently upgraded to a king size bed from a famous brand (let's call it a Schmurple mattress) and we gave our son our old queen size mattress from Ikea. At first, the kiddo loved having a giant bed to himself, but then he noticed how hard and uncomfortable the Ikea mattress was. He was appearing in our bed every night and I did NOT get a king size bed so I could have more people in it. I must have read a thousand mattress topper reviews trying to find something that was highly rated and not going to cost as much as a whole new mattress. I had pretty much settled on this one when it suddenly went on sale. I am so glad I bought it! My son loves it. It turned that crappy slab of queen sized concrete I gave him into a comfy bed. I no longer spend 30 minutes futilely helping him rearrange pillows every night, and it feels great on my back when I lay down next to him. In truth, I haven't slept a whole night on this mattress pad, but the fact that my kid is no longer in my bed every night proves it's worth every single penny. It "inflated" to full thickness in about an hour and I didn't see the need to let it sit out for a day. They say this depends on temp, elevation, and humidity when you open it. I live near Dallas, TX and it was probably 90 something degrees outside and over 75% humidity on the day the topper arrived. Both the topper and the mattress are inside a fully enclosed mattress protector. This was no easy feat but I'm not about to leave it unprotected on the bed of a 9 year old. He's never wet the bed, but he seems to have no control when nauseous. As far as I can tell, this hasn't hurt its plush-ness or affected the comfort. It did significantly reduce the lavender smell, which makes me a bit sad because I thought the scent was just right. My son's only complaint is that he can't jump on the bed anymore. It's an excellent shock absorber. TLDR: This topper salvaged my kid's uncomfortable bed so I don't have to make room for him in my bed anymore. 10/10.
