We purchased these as we were having issues with large birds perching on our fences and to put it nicely having a toilet onto our seating area. This has stopped this happening and they now venture into the lush green trees instead. They are not sharp, so no animal will get injured, they are just enough to keep the birds from landing. Good quality product and easy to install (so the hubby said!!)

Whilst these are a suitable deterrent for any would be burglar to gain access to your property by using the fence, they're not very well made. Admittedly they're only moulded plastic, I get that, however if you try to cut or shape them, they fall apart as the plastic is quite brittle. On the fence top where I put them they're easy to use, I placed 3 small screws in each to secure them. They are not at all sticky, hence the need for screws (I was asked in the suggestions below this review) All in all I found them functional and a good deterrent from stopping pigeons sitting around on your fence tops poohing everywhere. The are discreet too, you barely notice them when they're applied.

My fence was being used as a perch for cats that would sit and wait and pounce on birds etc below. I put these strips up and they are quite sharp and though job done! Following morning have had both a cat and a squirrel travel the full length of the fence (6 panels). The Cat sat on the spikes in its usual pre-pounce position. Very disappointing. They certainly slow the speed of travel across the fence but it's not job done as I thought. I nearly bought the longer spikes I've seen but thought they looked too unfriendly.. Maybe they would work better.
