Innovations 7-38012-34010-3 Sega Genesis 2 & 3, Game Gear AC Adapter

This worked perfectly for a Genesis 3. The quality seems good, unlike some reviews I read beforehand for the supposed same product. The wire seems fine to me, coated with a nice flexible plastic or rubber that seems like it will hold up well. The connector fit perfectly without having to be forced, or falling out with the slightest motion. I do a lot of console and arcade repair and have seen some crappy parts, but I can recommend this one as being good!

Yes, this DOES work for the Sega Genesis model 2. I can see what the nay-sayers ran into when leaving negative reviews, and that is this: they didn't see the adapter that was included in the package. At first I thought I was sent the wrong adapter, until I looked at the other three that I hadn't opened yet (I ordered 4 in total to get 4 consoles working). Without opening the 2nd-4th adapters, I simply looked for the yellow tipped plug, and that's when I noticed it was an adapter that attached to the end of the this power supply. In closing I'd like to repeat: This DOES work for the Genesis 2, just open your eyes and look for the yellow tip.

I found an old Game Gear with corroded battery contacts at a thrift shop and was able to power it up with this adapter. Yes the cord is a little short but who cares, that's why extension cords were invented! Great buy for the price!

I ordered 2 of these, but 1 of them does not work at all. I have tried both of them on the genesis and 1 works and the other doesn't. Kind of disappointed that 2 identical items do not work the same.

This is a good power supply that worked with my old Sega Genesis. It's a nice sturdy power supply with a power indicator light on the brick. The only downside to this is the cord length is pretty short. I have to use an extension cord in order to make my Sega work. Other than that it works great!

I don't understand what other reviewers are complaining about. I received this power adapter, plugged it in to the console, plugged the other end into the wall; and it worked. The power specifications on the adapter are exactly what the Genesis 2 requires to run. The socket fits nice and snug into the back of my Genesis 2, and I have had no problems with it so far. I did buy mine from Amazon though, and maybe other sellers don't sell the same product as advertised.

Power is not the right one to use, you need a 120W 60hz power supply and this one is only 110W, for people that don't understand why that's important let me educate you a little bit. since the power supply is only 110W, the system is not get its full power for a lot function like sound, button inputs sometime even video output, yes that extra 10W really means that much, do yourself a favor and buy the real Sega G2 power cord because this knock off isn't worth it. I would return mines but it would a waste of money to do so since i only payed $2.44 for the damn thing.

I ordered this AC adapter replacement for my Sega Genesis V2 based on the picture above as it looks like the original one, but when it arrived it looked like a cell phone charger. I was upset that it was not what I had ordered and to my surprise it still functioned just like the original. It is even lighter than the bulky block one as displayed. The seller powerlevel and I discussed the situation with the product not looking as pictured and they resolved the issue faster than I could have thought. It was a pleasant transaction and everybody is happy now, even my Sega. I am a real person by the way or else I couldn't type this: fhjihfodjfijod!@@3jyhfc
