When I was bitten by an unknown spider, presumably at work, the nurse recommended that I try this product. I had never heard of it. I had already tried all the normal things (Benadryl, Camphophenique, cortizone cream, etc) out on my spider bite and nothing had made it better, and it was proceeding to get worse. But when I tried this, it finally started getting better and fairly quickly. That’s when I bought some on Amazon. More recently, while hiking, I was hit by a swarm of chiggers. There were literally hundreds crawling all over my light khaki hiking pants. I was lucky and only ended up with around 50+ bites. I was on vacation at the time, so I didn’t have this product with me, and all I applied was clear nail polish. Once I got home in approximately three days, I started applying this product along with a 3% solution of peppermint essential oils mixed with jojoba oil (all after removing the nail polish). By morning, there was a drastic improvement. Yes, it was incredibly itchy when I first started applying product, but within less than an hour, there was relief and significant reduction in redness, swollenness, and itchiness by the next morning. I could actually wear socks (before it was torturously itchy)! I’ve been applying those two things every morning and evening since. It may also be worth mentioning that because I’m a nerd, initially I only applied this product and the peppermint/jojoba oil to a small subset of my bites so that I could compare in the morning the difference. I wish I had thought to take a picture, but I didn’t. But the difference was significant, and after that I’ve been applying both products to all of my bites.

I have purchased this product many times in the past. It goes on clear and dries quickly. It usually dries up the poison ivy blisters in a couple of days, while removing the itch. I recommend this product.

Smell is pleasant and not overpowering. Didn’t work for me on mosquito bites. Used for nerve pain with shingles. Worked well the first week (took an hour to kick in), but stopped doing much the second week. Would recommend this for pain, but not itch.

Calagel is an amazing anti-itch gel, works great on all kinds of bug bites. I’ve been using it for years. Bought another bottle through Amazon since the local retailer stopped carrying it. I never leave reviews, but this product deserves one. I get terrible reactions from bug bites. I’ve learned that as soon as I realize I’ve been bitten to wash the area, dry it, and apply Calagel to the area. In most cases a single application is all I need. If I have a more severe reaction with a large welt, or multiple bites in a small area, it might take 2 or occasionally 3 applications. Even with a situation like this, the itch is greatly reduced after just one application. I highly recommend Calagel.

My poor BF got poison oak at work and was in so much itchy pain. As always tecnu saved him and got rid of it within the week his rash was no longer red and angry but instead pink and slightly raised. By his second week he was all better 🥰 I'm thankful for such a good product ✨️

Works well to stop spread of rash and relieve itch. Recommend it!
