Excellent product
Purchased other sealers from other sellers, and they did not work on my sandstone table tops that I make and sell to furniture stores. This sealer works, only need 2 coats.

STRONGLY RECOMMEND WEARING A MASK!!! Water beads up perfectly!!!
2/2022: my shower and bathroom are still well sealed. I still haven't gotten around to the kitchen grout yet but I will definitely be using this product. The water still beads up on the bathroom grouts. 2019: I bought a pint to use for my shower tile, floor in the bathroom, and my kitchen backsplash and window sills. I finally got around to the shower yesterday. I used a foam craft brush to apply to sealant. I don't recommend that form of application because it caused a lot of foaming. However, since I didn't have anything else to use I continued with it. I applied the sealant as per the directions. Let it sit about 3 - 5 minutes and wiped it off the tiles. I only needed to seal the grout as the tiles didn't need to be sealed. After I sealed the grout in the walls I sealed the floor grout. I have a pebbled floor and again, just needed to seal the grout. After I completed the floor and wiped up the excess I waited about 2 hours and repeated the process. The smell didn't bother me until I sat in the living room after completing the task. I got a sore throat and my nose became plugged. I closed the bathroom door and lit a candle in the living room. That took away the odor. This morning I couldn't smell it at all. I dripped a little water on the shower floor and wall and it beaded up perfectly. I had to order a quart more so I can do the remaining grout areas. As soon as it arrives I'll finish the bathroom floor, kitchen backsplash and window sills. Ok, it's been five days since I sealed my shower and I STRONGLY RECOMMEND TO WEAR A MASK. I have had a sore throat and nasal passages since about 6 hours after using the product. Now, that's completely my fault because I read the directions and they clearly say to wear a mask and open windows and doors and use the fan if you have one. I sealed the bathroom floor grout yesterday. I really like how the water beads up now! Next will be the kitchen grout! I highly recommend this product. Other than needing a face mask and opening windows and turning on the fan, it's a wonderful product.

would no longer bead up water anymore and felt a bit gritty for want of a better term. I cleaned the lime around the sink ...
Wow. I didn't really expect the results I got with this product, but the 511 really delivered. Three years ago, when I got my granite counter tops, which are a lighter and very porous granite, I was told they were permanently sealed and would require no maintenance on my part. Well, not so much. I have hard water and around the sink area the pores had held water and created a coating of lime that had significantly dulled the granite. This area particularly, and the rest of the counter areas generally, would no longer bead up water anymore and felt a bit gritty for want of a better term. I cleaned the lime around the sink with 15 minute vinegar - oxyclean soaks followed by nailbrush scrubs and water rinses. Probably 6 or 7 repetitions of this and the lime was gone and the surface shine returned. After this I cleaned everything with a 50/50 water - rubbing alcohol wipe and then applied 511 simply following the directions. I applied 4 times to the sink area and 2 times everywhere else. The difference is amazing. The granite surfaces feel so much smoother and the shine has returned. Now water beads up nicely again just as I remembered when the counters were new. While, judging from the fact that overnight wine spills never stained the counters, the permanent seal must have held, this product really returned the smooth feel and shine to the granite. The product's smell really wasn't that bad - the vinegar may have been more obnoxious - and a little really went a long way. So easy to apply, I wonder why anyone would pay someone to seal their granite. I'll for sure be using the rest of the bottle probably 6 months from now and won't hesitate to buy more when it runs out.

Perfect for slates but doesn't work for encaustic cement tiles
We needed a sealer that would work for slates we'd chosen for the floor and for some encaustic cement tiles we'd bought from cementtileshop.com. They recommended Porous Plus on their website so we optimistically ordered a lot of it. On the plus side, I was thrilled with how it did the slates. It leaves a very natural look to the stone, is really easy to apply and resisted olive oil left on a sealed slate for a whole night. This is a basic requirement for stone in a kitchen. Encaustic cement tiles are very porous and the sealer just kept soaking in with each application. We spoke with a rep from Miracle Sealants who said we might need 4 coats. We tried that and even after giving it plenty of time to cure, oil would still stain the tiles even after a few minutes. We tried the regular miracle 511 and that didn't work for us either. The problem with these sealers is that the cost of experimenting is very high! We were lucky though in that we found "Buddy Rhodes Natural Look Penetrating Sealer" which is a water-based sealer that did a much better job with just 2 coats. Following that up with "Buddy Rhodes Beeswax" and finally our encaustic tile resisted olive oil for a whole night.

Sealed natural stone. Water beads up now.
We have soft natural stone in our shower, and this product creates a great water seal. We tried other products and they did not last long. Three coats of this and water naturally beads on the surface. Easy to apply. After six months the stone does not absorb water. Excellent.

I have natural stone tiles on my kitchen wall, behind the stove as a backslash as well. The contractor was just not professional enough to know that this was supposed to be treated with sealant to prevent the oil and other stains being sucked up by the stone what ended up on the wall while cooking. I have not spilled anything directly on it but it is normal when food is boiling on the stove to have humidity and stuff evaporate... A have suffered removing the residue. Didn't dare to cook again and ruin the wall again. After I have treated the tiles with this product nothing sticks in/on the tiles any more. I can truly recommend. Would do the job with paint and kitchen counter as well. However it made the color slightly darker, which I do not mind. Its nice and even.
