TICASB800 Cetus Trout Spinning Fishing Reel, Gold, 6-Pound/95-Yard

Ultralight outfits make fishing fun and challenging. My favorite reel for UL fishing is the Tica Cetus line of reels. I own seven of them. Over the last 15-20 years, dozens of days, thousands of casts, very little trouble, maybe a line twist now and then which had more to do with wind. These reels weigh almost nothing, cast great and have a balanced feeling and a smooth, easily adjustable drag. I usually 6' premium mono line although I have gone as light as 2' for Blue Gill. My main target are largemouths and I have pulled in a few larger fish (6lbs.+) with these reels. Just one caution here: Although the photograph of the item being sold is that of an SB800, the actual product received was an SB500. Disappointed not to receive the SB800 but no problem. Amazon took care of the issue.

I bought the SB800 instead of the SB500. The SB800 is very light, about 5.3 oz, and has more capacity than the 500. I did not receive a spare spool, but was not expecting one. My plan is to use this reel for backpacking trips, where I want to save weight. Looks good and feels smooth so far, will update my review after some actual fishing use.... After a few trips I'm quite satisfied with this reel. Smooth action, light in weight and does the job. I loaded it with a spool of 4# nanofil and it works well for small kastmasters and the like. I also popped off the spool after the first trip and applied a bit of reel oil to the spindle, which helps the smoothness a bit.

Very good reel for ice fishing.

Good looking and feels right. Problem is the line does not spool evenly, filling up the back which leaves the front of the spool not filled which reduces casting distance. I bought 2 of these reels and the both spool the line this way.

ooooooh man love that lil reel! paired it with a moonshine rambler. super light but packs a punch. Im happy i tired the reel out love it.

Definitely not worth the money. Horrible anti reverse system. Drag and smoothness of the reel are ok. The product overall is not quality material.

Smooth drag, smooth bearing , great look ! This is my second one and I think it is the best ice reel there is! Only con is the second spool is pretty cheap plastic.
