Q: will it test low mV readings e.g. for checking mercury tooth fillings

I don't know what the enquirer means by "low mv". According to the manual, the lowest range for DC voltage is up to 200 mV with 0.1 mV resolution. Accuracy quoted as +/- (0.5% rdg + 2 dgt). Hope that helps. My device packed up after a few days usage and now just beeps when I turn it on so I can't experiment. Checked the usual things - battery and fuses OK - but I don't have the knowledge or the equipment to check any more than that!
