My son loves it
Loved this art easel for my almost 3 year old. It was pretty easy to assemble as well. Loved that it had the tray shelves. Great item and price.

Excellent art activity center for your child!
This easel is wonderful! We got this for our son's birthday, and it is everything we want in an easel. I like how one side is a dry erase board and the other side is a chalk board. The trays are a nice touch, and the side with the dry erase board has a tray where you can put paint containers. The only down side is that the spaces for the containers are made specifically for the four Melissa & Doug paint containers, and you can't really fit much more. In the middle of the easel is a rod where you can add a roll of paper to drape over the top of the easel and clip it to the side so that your child can paint. The easel comes with four removable clips, which is another down-side because my son constantly takes these clips and loses them. At the moment, I have absolutely no idea where they are. When I find them, I put them back on the easel, but then the second I turn my back, he takes them off again. I think it would be better if there were clips attached to the board, like the way a clipboard works. The chalkboard is neat... it's made out of a different material than a classroom chalkboard, so if you're like me and don't like the way a chalkboard feels or sounds, then you'll like this one! It's more of like a plastic... hard to explain, but it erases nicely, and if there is chalk residue on it, you can easily wipe it clean. This easel is well-made and sturdy. I like how your child has a choice between markers, chalk, or paint, and that you can have two kids working on it at once. This has not let me down yet!! Worth every penny.

Great Easel
Great easel! I have two kids who enjoy using it at the same time. I love that it is simple. The chalkboard is a big hit. It is very sturdy and durable and holds up to a lot of use.

Difficult assembly
Nice product but very difficult to put together. Instructions are not clear and videos are not realistic. I thought the holes were drilled wrong on the white board but figured out it was mislabeled . The top was really the side. I almost sent it back but finally figured it out myself.

Already Paid for Itself!
We got this as a birthday present for our two year old daugther. I was concerned about earlier reviews with the chalkboard, but found it was not at all an issue. Yeaaa! I, and my non-mechanically inclined self, and my 2 year old put it together in less than an hour, since my husband declined to participate in this fun-filled activity. I'm sure it can be done faster but when you have a 2 year old looking for the pieces you need it takes some extra time (especially when they end up underneath the bed). I found the directions and diagrams to be quite clear. They have helpful notes about how the numbers need to be facing each other and how the head of the screw should not be above the wood, etc. All useful bits of info that insure proper construction. We haven't used the dry earase yet, as I'm not sure there are many washable dry erase markers on the market. At 32" tall my daugher likes to climb onto the paint tray to get a little higher, but we gave her a stepping stool and that helps her to reach the highest points on the easel. (To it's credit the easle handled the extra weight she was placing on the tray.) It does look like putting it on it's highest setting gets tricky because there's not much space at the top between the front legs and the back, so I think it takes more planning to put the screws in on that top setting. It sounds like it used to come with some rolls of paper . . .if it did, it no longer does. I would think it should include at least one roll. Other than that no real complaints. The no fuss packaging was nice. I spent no time cursing over hard to open plastic or excessive, wasteful materials as it had none of that. Oh the two boards (chalk and dry erase) did appear to be slightly warped/bent when I opened them up, but it doesn't seem obvious now when fully constructed, so no big deal in the end. We haven't yet tried the paper roll holder as we haven't ordered any paper, so I can't comment on that either. We did get the extra (i.e., ordered seperately) paint cups and they of course fit nicely into the paint tray and are a smart addition. Glad we finally ordered this. It does seem that the price on this easel fluctuates by as much as fifteen dollars or so although I've never seen it at it's full asking price. Would definitely recommend this (and already have to friends)and I think (hope!) it will be one of those things that grows with our child for years to come.

Worlds worst art easel, get a different one.
The absolutely worst product I’ve ever experienced. Buy literally any other brand art easel than this one. I am a huge Melissa & Doug fan. We have basically every Melissa & Doug toy ever. I picked this art easel based off the brand alone. Problem 1: It was so hard to build. It took hours! I had to watch 3 YouTube videos because the instructions were pointless. There is no reason to make an art easel this complicated. Problem 2: pieces came warped and other pieces came without holes drilled where they needed to be so some parts couldn’t even be put on properly, or not at all. Problem 3: it doesn’t even come with a roll of paper or any markers, chalk, paint literally zero art supplies. Any other art easel in the world will be better than this one so just avoid this one.

Great Easel!
My 2 year old loves this easel! It can be adjusted to 3 different heights, so this product will grow with my son. The whiteboard/paper side blue tray has two rectangular depressions at each end of the tray and four round depressions across the middle for holding paint containers (not included). We haven't tried paint yet, but the tray holds his markers and crayons well. The red tray on the chalkboard side is just one big open tray great for sidewalk size chalk and an eraser. The easel is well made, easy to put together, stable, and I don't have to worry about fingers getting pinched or sharp edges sticking out. We found using Crayola washable markers on the whiteboard works really well. That way it's a quick cleanup with a wet paper towel/rag. Also, we use Crayola washable crayons on the paper, as the Melissa & Doug paper rolls (not included) don't reach the side edges of the easel, so crayon inevitably ends up on the whiteboard. The easel is designed to hold rolls of paper and feed up through the top and down the white board side. If you don't buy the rolls of paper, sheets may be clipped to the board and the dowel between the boards can be stocked with a roll of paper towels. 4 clips are included to hold the paper in place, but with repeated use, I don't see them holding up as long as the easel (so I'll buy chip clips when they need to be replaced.) Great easel that will last a long time!
