Superb quality. Questionable practicality.
I bought this 2x adapter for a trip to Europe with my daughters, thinking it would be perfect for portrait photos. The quality of this lens and attachment seem great. As far as I can tell, the glass is sharp and clear. The problem is that mounting it on the lens is a little bit of a process, which makes it hard to spontaneously take portrait photos. Since the 2x telephoto is rather subtle, it becomes more of a burden than its worth. We traveled all over Europe for 3 weeks, and I used this lens only once, and I don't think I could pick out the photos where this lens was used. In hindsight, I should have gotten the super-wide lens. There are more times that wide would have been useful, like on the bus, or trying to get these large structures in the frame, etc.

Couldn't focus with a 23+
The lens appears to be well made but, at least with a case on, I could not bring my 23 Plus to focus even in manual focusing mode. I didn't try with the case off because I knew in practice I did not want to have to remove the case to get it to work. I also tried on a 20FE 5G and it did seem to work somewhat in that I could bring it into focus, but when I actually compared photos I was not sure I saw much of a difference. I didn't really do extensive testing because I was primarily concerned with getting it to work on my 23+. Since returns are easy you may want to try it. In my own case, it convinced me to return not only it but also to return my 23+ and get the 23 Ultra.

Makes your photos worse?
I bought this for my Pixel 7. I am enjoying the new sensor crop for zoom. I wanted to see how much further I could take it. The answer is "none" further. The Apexel breaks the super res zoom algorithm and all of the image building that comes with it. The Apexel 2X works decently with my iPhone 12 though. That said, even with the iPhone, it still offers a lesser image.

Good for streaming and web cam
I got this for streaming group meetings (such as church or conference) using several phone cameras feeding video to OBS via wifi, then to a streaming service. It works well for this application, allowing one to place phone a little further back from speakers or musicians, making them less obtrusive. The model I received had a thumb screw to hold the lens to the phone, rather than a spring clip as pictured. I prefer the screw, as I've found springs can be very tight and I worry they could damage the phone. I have to take the case off the phone, and it is tricky to center, so I doubt I would ever carry this lens around for snapshots. My original order also arrived quite late. Amazon has a bunch of phone lenses, mostly in sets. I tried one of the sets (Ragu, I believe) that contained a 2x lens, but the optical quality of this lens (and others in the set) was low. The lower quality lens can still be used for streaming, but I have to crop the image in OBS to avoid distortions around the edges of the image. They are mostly suitable as a toy, which is about how they are priced. I have seen other reviews which complain about optical inferiority with this Apexel lens, but it looks good to me and is certainly fine for streaming quality. I am also using this lens on an iphone as a webcam for my computer. An old phone generally has a significantly better camera than a typical webcam (and webcams were hard to come by early on during COVID). The 2x lens allows me to get a good image size without digitally zooming, so I get a better image on Zoom or Teams video chat (with my webcam, I am at lower resolution than my Zoom background, which looks odd). So for streaming or webcam applications I recommend this product. I'm on Amazon today to buy more of them for multiple camera angles streaming a wedding.

Terrible
Get what you pay for. Maybe less. A good 2-3x lens is about $100 - $150. This was $26. Its terrible. Its less noticable in full daylight, but it has terrible reflection and flare. Barely usable in daylight, completely unusable at night. The mounting clip doesn't work with a case and barely works naked. Womt hold the lens flush, so hand pressure on the clip is required to keep it square to the camera's line of if sight.

GREAT for the money
First clip was shot with digital zoom. Second clip was shot with the 2x lens. Pay attention to the noise (way down!). As a whole, it just looks smoother and less artificial/artifact-y. Just make sure the lens is resting AGAINST YOUR PHONE’S CAMERA. If you have a gap between the lens and the camera, it’s gonna turn out blurry! So if your case is making a gap, take off the case. Lots of negative reviewers and I bet you half of the dissatisfied folks simply aren’t using it correctly. This product is really good for what it’s trying to do. If you’re on the fence, buy it.

Doesn't work well with Pixel but good customer service
The picture quality is poor. There are multiple causes. First, the clip isn't long enough on the side opposite the lens to keep the lens against the phone's lens. This is especially bad when NOT using a phone case. Second, when I hold it in place, there are aberrations that make the picture blurry in parts. Third, the aperture is too small and the edges of the photo are black. I was excited to find a 2x magnification lens, and was disappointed in how it worked out. On the positive side, the seller responded to my original review and offered a full refund since the product didn't work out for me. Two stars back for great customer service (though I still can't give the product I received 4 or 5 stars in good conscience given the issues).

Agrega mucha distorsión en los lados, solo el centro se ve nítido y sin distorsión, para el nivel de zoom prefiero no usarlo.

really love this for my audition tapes and for zoom calls. tightens my frame to just my head and shoulders and really has a nice filmic quality to it. really simple to use. have recommended it to my friends as well who also are big fans.

I was misled to believe and buy this overpriced waste. About 60% of the frame is blurred away (30% on each sides) and the sharpness and focus is just in the center. (See the sample picture. I have taken it from a video, shot with this lens on). Every reviewer shows a picture/video of “with and without the lens”, but the fact is that they are doing this on already “zoomed in” pic/video, so that we do not see the blurred parts. They just do not show us the zooming part.. and when I say blur, I’m not talking about the nice background blur/bokeh like the one’s you get with DSLRs…the left and right sides of your frame has a cheap looking blur and only the center part is in focus. Some reviews say that this issue goes away in video mode and also if you use a lens mounting case…well, it does not…!!! I have tried this lens with a lens clip as well as the lens mounting case, but the problem still exists. The only way to get rid of this, is to shoot in 4K and use the digital zoom on your camera or to crop the image/footage in post to remove the blurred parts…but both these methods will cause huge loss in resolution. ie, 4K resolution will get reduced to less than 1080p resolution…!!! To be frank, something in between 720p and 1080p. Don’t believe the reviews…people who were tricked into buying this will not admit it due to the embarrassment and will just leave with a comment like “Good product”, “Nice” etc. And those giving 5 star rating with high regards are just biased/paid reviews. Don’t believe the Youtube reviews as well…there is an as shole who is like “specialised” in giving fake reviews of this ape xel products. Also, all the youtube reviews say that this lens will give a nice background blur/bokeh and depth of field…and they show an example footage of the bokeh effect by shooting an object too close to the camera. Come on…you can get bokeh/background blur on any phone camera if you shoot nearby/close objects. You don’t need an extra lens for that. (try shooting a close-up of a coffee mug against a deep background in the frame) Overall, a below average, overpriced product.

Cumple con acercar el objetivo, la calidad baja un poco, aunque pense que seria mas grande el aumento

This blurs photos and it doesn’t frame over the camera lens properly. Not what we expected. Waste of money.
