Awesome Stick Vaccuum
I saw this vacuum on QVC about a year ago and thought the design was unique and it appeared to be an effective stick vacuum. BUT there was not any reviews on it as of yet. I saw it again here, on Amazon (a year later)and was thrilled read over the reviews. In readng over what people had to say about it, I was thrilled to try this vacuum. It was easy to put together and I used it immediately. We have Brazilian Cherry Wood as most of our floor area, then tile in our kitchen and bathrooms. Since we are unable to use regular vacuums (as it scratches our floors)I was hoping to find "something" other than the good ol soft push broom and dust pan, as the dirt and sand (we live in the South)can be left behind by that method. We also have three Labradors and they do SHED! So finding a lightweight, vacuum that does not scratch the floors and picks up the "tumble hair" was my goal! So how does it work? AWESOME!! I like how the rubber sections push the dirt and hair into the suction hole. It is easy to empty and it really picks up everything! It is PERFECT for our home!! So if you are looking for an AWESOME vacuum that is lightweight, has great suction, and does not scratch your precious wood or tile floors then this is the perfect vacuum for anyone who has pets or just wants something that can effectively pick up sand/dirt and not just blow it around! I will be recommending this vacuum to my friends who have pets and or looking for a lightweight hardwood floor vacuum! I might even buy a second one and donate it to my club's AKC Labrador dog show in February!!!! Love it-thank you Bissel for making such a useful tool and Amazon for posting reviews and carrying such a FAB vacuum!

Love Love Love
I have to start out that I was very skeptical about purchasing this vacuum because of the price alone...you know the saying of you get what you pay for. I am SOOO Glad I bought this vacuum. I have 2 English Bulldogs who shed so bad and this vacuum work great! The suction is very strong and I was disgusted at how dirty my floor were. I love this vacuum so much I HIGHLY recommend it to those with hardwood or tile! You will never use your broom again! With a broom I would still have hair and dirt on the floor. I could take a black sock and see all the hair and dust on it right after I swept...with this vacuum i did the same thing after I vacuumed and had no hair what so ever on the sock. VERY STRONG suction, light, easy to use, GREAT price! I saw a bad review about this vacuum being cheap and the handle breaking. I have not had this problem and I have a toddler who has knocked it down and slammed it to the floor quite a few times and it is still going strong. Another bad review was about the hair getting stuck in the top filter...which i true but normally will only do that if the container i full and needs dumped out. It does hold a lot of dirt and hair. I like that I can see how much crap I have vacuumed up. I use it on my area rugs as well but it cannot be used on taller carpet. I guess it can but I think you may ruin the rubber on the bottom very fast. I just purchased another one of these for our office and I got one for my mom on xmas and she LOVES it. I NEVER use a broom anymore! I actually enjoy vacuuming with it lol and seeing how dirty my floors get. I have recommended this vacuum to so many and they purchased it as well and love it just as must as I do. I did find with some of the dog hair, it will stick or static cling to the container...and I just put a diaper wipe in the container to kinda get it to cling to that instead and it has worked wonders. I rarely have to do that but it does work.

Perfect hard floor vacuum for small spaces
I moved into a new house with 100% hard surface floors, and having 2 cats I needed something specifically designed for that. The vacuum is lightweight and easy to maneuver. It picks up pet hair and small debris really well and I find myself using it all of the time. Don't expect this to work on carpet, it's not designed for that. Though, I can go over area rugs and it will work to some degree. There are a couple cons, but they are not deal breakers for me. First off, it's not all that big of a vacuum, so don't expect to be able to cover a lot of ground quickly. What adds to that is the fact that it's designed to filter the dirt from your floor to the center of the vacuum head to pick it up. That's fine, but the mechanism for doing that prevents it from working as well when pulling it backwards. I find my self following the planks of my wood floors in straight lines rather than having the vacuum cover untouched parts of the floor going backwards (hopefully that makes sense). The only other slight negative is that air that blows out of the vacuum points straight out in front, so if I'm holding it close to upright, I can see the fine pet hairs blowing around before I have a chance to get them. That's only a small issue for me as most of the time it's venting upwards because the vacuum is at an angle. Everything else is great. I have to vacuum 2 to 3 times a week and have had this for a couple months. I've seen no loss in suction. It works very well for what I needed.

GET.THIS.SWEEPER!!!
If you have pets and you have hard floor surfaces where hair collects, this thing is a no-brainer!!!!!!!! I wanted to wait until I had used this for awhile to do a review that would actually be helpful. If you have the furry tumbleweeds that we get with two German Shepher/Akita mix dogs, then by all means, GET.THIS.SWEEPER. First, if you're not familiar with GSDs, they have FIVE hairs in each follicle. Five. And what seems like a trillion hair follices. Add to that the underlying Akita FUR. Are you picking up what I'm putting down? Serious amounts of hair, every day, all the time. We have a Dyson that has been going strong for over 8 years. Looooooove my Dyson. It's the bomb. But the motor is so strong, and blows directly toward the floor, it doesn't do as well with hard floors and this amount of hair. It literally blows some of it into the air. Not good. For carpets - amazeballs. Lots.of hard surfaces, not so much. When I read some of the reviews for this machine, I was a little skeptical, but it's a good price and I could return it if necessary. Not only would I not return it, I would gladly buy another in a heartbeat! It picks up every.single.hair. It has a little rubber guide on the bottom so nothing gets missed. The motor blows out the top so nothing gets blown around the floor and into the air. The filter??? Ooooooh the filter!! You should see the fine dust particles and everything when you take it out to clean it! This bad boy gets everything! What I took away from some comments in other reviews: * Definitely buy a replacement filter pack. It's well worth it so you can let one dry and have another one ready to go. Change it out and wash ONLY the foam sleeve every 4 or so uses, depending on how much hair and dust you find after said amount of uses. You'll be amazed at what you get in there and you'll want it to work optimally. * Definitely clean out the top maroon filter (the thing that looks like an upside-down funnel) with each use or at least every other use, and dump the container as often as well, again depending on what you're getting. * One review in particular said it didn't work well, and I believe this person also said their home had a lot of dog hair. This is not true at all. As long as you're cleaning it out each time you use it, it will work perfectly. Oh - and don't expect it to get everything after you've accumulated a week's worth of tumbleweeds - it's not going to last long. That's just common sense. But if you're not vacuuming every day or every other day and allowing serious accumulation, well then.........this sweeper not working for you is likely not your first issue. * Someone complained about the length of the cord. We have a sizeable house and I do have to unplug it and plug it into different outlets to get the entire first floor where the majority of the hard surfaces are located. This doesn't bother me. I feel that if they made it much longer, it would be a pain for people with apartments. It's not a biggie. Get an extension cord if you're that perplexed. Lol I am very particular about getting the hair off of the floor. To the point where our dogs our lucky I love them so much because it makes me THAT crazy. Yes, ok. Borderline OCD about the hair, if you must know. So if I love this sweeper, you will, too. :D

THE BEST HARD FLOOR VACUUM I FOUND
This Bissell hard floor vacuum is really all that people say it is. This is exactly what I was looking for. We moved into a new home that has 100% tile floors. With a Silver Lab 90 lb. dog we get a lot of hair and dirt tracked in. I almost wanted one of those super wide clothe brooms that you would see the janitor pushing down the school hallways...it was about 3 or 4 feet wide. However, that is too much work. I wanted something electric with suction. I wasn't concerned about the wet mopping part of cleaning our floors. My wife can do that with her proud swiffer. I just wanted to be able to quickly vacuum all the floors and pick up the hair and dry dirt. Sweeping by hand to much work and takes too long. Our normal carpet vacuum with rotating bristles does work OK, however it is not nearly as effective as this hard floor bagless stick vacuum (Bissell) I just bought and used. I tested this many times now. What I like is that it is lightweight. It is very light and easy to maneuver. There was one lady who wrote a review above this one. She talked about how she didnt like this vacuum (she liked the vacuum in general) because of its wedge base shape. It has a "V" shape at the bottom so that you can get around corners and table legs etc. She said she could not use it on a straight line or the straight part of a wall. However, I know what she is talking about, but this is NOT accurate. She needs to know that this vacuum contains suction points (that are super super strong suction) on the ends of the vacuum V base. So, if she just runs this vacuum down the straight wall in parallel with it...the side suctions will do all the work for you and suck up dirt right up against the wall. This is what a normal carpet vacuum can never reach. This vacuum was designed to do this and she must not realize it has side suction points. If you look at the sides of the V base vacuum you can see the slots where suction comes from. If you line the vacuum up against the wall and run it down nearly touching the wall it will grab all dust, dirt and hair easily. If you push the vacuum directly straight at a wall, obviously because it is V shaped it is not going to catch most of the dirt in front of it. However, that is not the right way to vacuum a wall anyway...bc it would take you forever. Just vacuum in parallel with the wall and bam, you are done. There isnt anything I dislike about this vaccum so far. Except I would have made it wider. It is not very wide and if it was 4-6 inches wider it would really speed up the vacuuming on hard floors. However, I am guessing they did not design it this way because anything larger would take away from its benefit of being able to get in and around furniture legs and corners and couches, etc. If too big or wide it would defeat its purpose. So, I am happy with it being less wide so that I can go around all the furniture legs and couches very easily. It sucks up everything in its bath. This has sped up my dirt and hair collection BIGTIME and is exactly what I was shopping for. I am super happy with it., It comes with only two parts needed to put together. You basically stick the stem of it into the base and then you attach the handle to the stem and its ready! I was vacuuming within minutes and loving it. It will suck up everything up to the size of about a quarter. This has suction holes that are only so big. So, the V shape pushes the dirt and hair into the middle and suction holes pick it up., This vacuum is NOT like a normal carpet vacuum. It is 100% specifically designed for hard floors tile or hardwood. It contains like a rubber squeegy type thing all across the bottom of it which is what sweeps or pushes all the dirt toward the inside of the V. It is easier to understand when you see it. Just buy it, you wont regret it. Some people complain about things because they complain about everything. For this price of $50 you cannot go wrong. It works very well for what its purpose is. It wasnt given to me for a free review either. This is as honest as it gets for a review and I hope it helps you decide.0 MB

Disappointed
I bought this on Amazon back in February and it worked really well, though I had some issues with it blowing papers on the wall around, and the shape made it difficult to get the baseboards clean. I found ways around that. Then it seemed to be low on suction about a month ago or more. I called Bissell and they gave me a service center near me but that place ended up being very bad, so they sent me somewhere else. Now, however, I am waiting on it to be repaired by a Bissell repair place in Brooklyn, NY. It's taking an eternity because they say some piece is missing or something and are charging me double for a new filter when Bissell told me to throw out the old filter. This place claims I need some piece but isn't giving much clue as to what. And they just called me back to tell me that they had the piece (that was on "backorder" just minutes ago) and that my vacuum is ready and someone forgot to put in the piece. I'm frustrated that the vacuum had any issues just months after getting it. I have yet to know the details of what was even wrong with it. I'm also disappointed that Bissell has these very incompetent service centers they sent me to, both asking for bill of sale even though Bissell will swear up and down you don't need that. Lastly, the design on this vacuum is more complicated than it needs to be; I couldn't get the base off the appliance when I was on the phone with Bissell troubleshooting problems. The base should slip right off (according to Bissell), but no matter how much I pulled and how much I pressed that white button/thing, it didn't budge. And that may have been the issue to begin with: a clog in the base area. Anyway, I am off to collect my vacuum and hope it works properly from here out. I will never buy anything from Bissell again just based on the type of service and total incompetence I received. I'm going to have to pay double on this filter when I shouldn't be paying anything. Companies often think that service isn't as important as the product they sell, but I think both matter equally and both have really failed here. On the plus side: When the vacuum worked it got up lots of cat hair, kitty litter, and food remnants, and it's lightweight (made it easier to transport to the repair shop). There are three separate areas to clean out, which seemed odd to me, and I never saw this mentioned in the description. It's not that bad, but you'll have to touch all the junk you vacuumed up which seems odd to me. Plus, the filter gets all cover in cat hair and I'm not sure the best way to clean it. Bissell wasn't so helpful there and just told me to toss it. And, when cleaning out the various parts, a lot of what you've just vacuumed up is spilled back out. The vacuum is okay. It's a vacuum. The service at Bissell and their service centers is intolerable & not worth the headache. If you're lucky you won't have it break or get clogged, but if you do you may be stuck where I am and not be able to open the base to clear the clog, leaving you in the hands of some random repair shop that may gouge you saying you need parts you may not need. Good luck!

Clean-freak non-clean-freak AGREE ... and BOTH haveCATS!
Alright, I'll start this with a confession ... I like a clean house, I do not DO cleaning good on a routine basis!!! My neighbor however is very different, she is a neatnik and vacuum cleaner (self admitted) fanatic! I have Italian tile floors in part of my house. The "old" routine was to sweep, microfiber sweep, mop AND THEN microfiber sweep again! Fun? NO! Inspiration for a non-fussy person to clean? NOT on your life ... ESPECIALLY when you have little furry feline family members! My thinking became, NUTS, it will be back tomorrow, why bother ... wait until it is really bad! (Sorry, if that attitude offends my super clean readers.) BUT when I bought this little goodie after reading the reviews I used it 15 seconds before I changed my mind and called my "Super vacuum aficionado neighbor!" It took another 15 seconds for me to loose my new toy ( "Can I borrow this?") until her's came in from Amazon! It is now her go to tool over bigger name-brand floor cleaners. Her direct comment to me after a couple of days was this: "If someone outside a store said" I'll GIVE it to you, take it home and use it. I'd have said no, due to the price! Now, I'll never be without it." Now for MY pros and cons: Pros: For my part, others have talked about it being hard to use I do not see it. It swivels easily. I can see how some could think it might take some getting used to; go with the flow and it gets under (my) cabinets great. It will depend on the height of the cabinet.( I have about 2.75"). For me, it does pick up "dust bunnies, cat fur, fuzz, and other oddities" at the corners of the V-shape. Believe me, when I say I'm no housekeeper it it will catch and clean under my cabinet edgers, you'll have little problem. If you do a small whisk broom will solve the problem. Cleaning is easy; but you NEED to pay attention and clean it! Both filters, top and bottom. Take it outside, use the whisk-broom, then gently beat/tap i ... take it outside though before cleaning it. :) Be good to it, keep it clean and it will do great things for you.One user review I read suggested to clean the filter each time you change the outlet. Not a bad idea to at least LOOK to see it it needs cleaning. Others have complained about the length of the cord. I have one room that is 20+' long and have not found this an issue. Frankly, even as bad a housekeeper as I am, I can do all my tile ( one room 10' x 20' and a hall about the same size) without cleaning the filter. AND with multiple cats (+5) this is every 2 weeks. I keep trying to once a week and have not got there yet! It does pick up small sized cat/dog food. I've never seen a pet that is a neat eater. They scatter bits everywhere! This darling WILL pick up small pieces (such as Friskies dry, cat treats, etc). Cons: There is only one. Some folks have talked about the front blower. I do have a corner bookshelf by a door. Remembering, I am a self-confessed BAD housekeeper ... I repeat, I LOVE a clean house, I just do not DO housekeeping well!!! :) when I get into that corner and have not done "something" about the dust, dirt, cat hair in that area I WILL get a major blow back! Bottom Line: If you could take 2 people on opposite sides of the "neatnik non - neatnik spectrum and get them to agree then you have agreement here. This is a great product! Easy to use --- yes. Easy to clean --- yeah, it only takes a couple of minutes. Easy set-up: Unpack to use about 2 minutes. Recommended --- OH YEAH! It has taken a 3-4 step, slick Italian tile floor to a 2 step process! Use this and get the steam cleaner out! No after clean needed! Hope this helps!

Sceptic no more. Wow does it work! (Cheerio monster!)
Okay so before I bought this thing even with all the glowing reviews I was totally put off by the looks, I didn't really want to buy it but the reviews sort of forced my hand. I felt compelled to at least try it, thinking I would probably send it right back for not wowing my socks off. And wow, was I wrong. First off right out of the box it was super light and very easy to pick up and maneuver but the lightness doesn't make it feel cheap. It still feels very well made. The swivel head is amazing, I have a dyson ball that doesn't swivel as easy or nicely as this thing, it reminds me of a swifer. And it can almost go flat so it gets under furniture wonderfully. I wanted a sweeper for just hard floors because I am not fond of how heavy and ackward my dyson is on hard floors. I've had other stick vacuums as well but they never picked up as well as this bissell and I think I know why now. No beater bar! That was partly what made me a sceptic but wow, this things picks up crap that my dyson spits back out because of that stupid bar. It just suck it all straight up in the machine and you don't have to constantly pick it up and unwind all the hair around the bar before going back to it. Oh and does it pick up hair? Does it ever! That's where it shines, it sucks it up before the head even gets to it, the suction is so powerful. I didnt even buy it for that either, I wanted something to pick up all the cereal and cracker crumbs my 2 toddlers seems to get everywhere. I just wanted something to pick up the big pieces without getting stuck or spit back out. This vaccum does it! It'll pick up large bits of dog food, without me stepping on it first to grind it into powder. That's why I call it the Cheerio monster, it is perfect for that stuff. I was also quit secptical of the design of the head, it made the vacuum look ugly and it turned me off at first. Besides the fact that I didn't know if it would work well. I watched a YouTube video review that made it seem like a bad design. I am glad I went ahead and bought it though, the design is actually perfect for what it is used for. The ends of the head both have holes to suck stuff up when you go right up against the base boards. Thats someting i don't know what other design of vacuum can do, unless you go back with a broom. I guess that's why they call it a "PowerEdge". It was cheaper than the other vacuums I was looking at getting as well. I did a lot of research before I decided to try this one, but I'm glad I did. It's been wonderful. The only minor complaint I have is it could use a longer cord, it's not like it is super short but I did find myself at the end of my reach quit a bit more than I would like. Over all though I am extremely pleased! It does a great job!
