Needed a good 8" subwoofer . Took a chance on this one for a few reasons.One being is it spends it's time in the back of my wagon with work tools so the provided grill does a good job, and being a "marine" unit, is that it is weather resistant so a little dirt and water won't hurt it too much. Third reason is that I was looking for a sub with lower RMS capability so it matches better to my amp (200 watt) so it's runs more efficiently Now then the sound. Pretty darn good. I used to run a 12" rockford sub with a matched box with the same amp. It was not feasible to use it in my car however, so I need something a little smaller....Compared to my one 12" it gets the low notes pretty good. It doesn't hit as hard and quite as low as a better 12. but it's probably 80% as good for most music. It makes a good rumble with rap/techno, and with the box it's in it's plenty tight and follows along great with rock and country music as well. A good box for any sub is key. If you don't have a good, properly matched box, it's going to sound like garbage no matter what. overall, for the price I'm pretty happy with this little sub. If i get a few good years out of it I'll be happy. I'm a dad with 2 kids though, so I never really get too rowdy anymore anyway, but still enjoy the low end a decent sub provides.

Worked perfectly to add a subwoofer to my pontoon boat. I mounted it under one of the seat boxes, and it really puts out a lot of bass.

First off, would have given 5 stars but it did not come with a pattern to cut out a hole in my custom built box. With the small lip, its hard to guess\measure where to cut the hole, but I made it work. Other than that, great speakers. Put 1 in my Rhino side-by-side under the drivers seat and paired it with a PYLE PLMRA420 4-Channel 1,000-Watt also purchased from amazon (run my door speakers off of the other 2 chanels). Hits hard for an 8" 400w, although I know pyle has a tendancy to over-rate their products wattage (and also, due to lack of room under the rhino's seat, my box was only .6ish cubic feet which is below the recommended .7 - 1.0 cubic feet for 8" subs). But it hits hard enough for me. Seems to be holding up pretty well as far as the "marine" part goes, but its only been 2 weeks and 1 powerwashing session, but it still works. You cant beat this speaker for the money. And if it breaks.....get another! 20 bucks aint bad for a marine sub if it'll last a year

This was my first "project" with mobile audio so take my comparison/review with a grain of salt as I don't really have anything else to base it against.. but wow. I bought this along with an enclosure and a pyle 1000 watt marine amplifier - to be installed in a boat. Took me awhile to get this wired up and tested out (because again - this was my first "go-round" with this type of audio) but once I did it was excellent. I'm sure the sound has a lot to do with the box (which was only 30 bucks or so) and the amp. But once I got it installed and sealed in the box properly the sound is incredible. I would classify myself as an above average audiophile, but this blows the bass from my 7.2 home theater system out of the water (lol).. And for a fraction of the price.. Once I got the High pass filter and low pass filter, level, and bass boost adjusted.. It's got a GREAT sound.. plugged it into my phone just for a test and I have to keep the volume very low or stuff in my house just starts randomly shattering. sucky side effect.. but oh well. Gonna buy another to make use of the extra wattage on the amp.. seems like a waste at this point!

Blown speaker.. I barely installed the speaker and unfortunately I can not return it.. Poor quality sound

rock speakers, omni directional speakers, burial speaker subs, all too expensive when on a budget. want to save money and still get the low end sound to complement your 3 way speaker then this is for you. i paired this with an 8in speaker box and it works great. i mean you can feel the bass even at low volume.

Product looks good and sounds good for the price point. Bamboozled from the pics showing a PAIR of speakers. This is only 1 speaker.

para instalacion en mi barco aun sin conectar pero se ve fiable ya que llevo varios años de instalaciones en vehiculos.. espero que hermetico suene bien

My sub blew up after 10 minutes use from new not impressed !!!! I’ve had many different brands before and this is jus the worst !!!
