Works well in my luxury vinyl plank
These were very easy to install and stick very well to the carpet. I had to do a readjustment to the position a few minutes after we put them down. They were already stuck pretty good to my luxury vinyl laminate flooring. The adhesion to the carpet started to pull away as I started to lift from floor. But it easily went back on, the floor was clean with no sticky residue. I will reserve judgement for a few weeks on how well the adhesion stays. But so far, so good!

I messed it up, but was able to fix it and now they work GREAT
TL;DR: vacuum your rug before application (yes, vacuum the bottom) and make sure you don't accidently peel off the adhesive. Do those things and your rug will not budge. --- I am fostering a young cat, and like many young cats, she is *rambunctious*. Every day at 3am she will run from one side of my apartment to the other, taking particular pleasure in sliding across the floor on one of my entryway rugs. She loves making hills and valleys in this rug and I was convinced she was going to kill me one day. Homicide via bunched rug. *sigh* Cats. I rent an apartment and I wanted a solution which would not damage my floors but would stop the endless shifting, bunching, and flipping (yes, flipping) of this rug. So I gave these a shot, put two down as a test, and they didn't work. At all. They did not grip the rug, they just collected cat hair and were yet another thing on my floor. BUT, to the floor, they did stick. The only issue was the rug. Disheartened, I left them there for two weeks because it's quarantine and no one was entering my apartment to judge me. Finally, one day I went to clean them off the floor and write this review when I noticed that the film I had pulled off of the rubbery part was oddly thick. Then it clicked. I had pulled off the sticky part that sticks to the rug. Excited, I rushed to the kitchen and washed the rubber parts. They cleaned up nicely, as promised, and regained an insane amount of stickiness as soon as they dried. While they dried, I made sure to vacuum the rug to decrease the overall amount of cat hair (a losing but valiant battle). I replaced the film and was careful to only remove the waxy paper this time. I applied them to the corners of the rug first (again, to decrease the opportunity for cat hair to invade again) and put the rug down. It was crooked. I tried to reposition it and it was SOLID. I carefully lifted up the corners by the pads (I did not want to mess up the rug adhesive this time) and after some effort got it straight where I wanted it to be. It's been a couple weeks now and I've made the cat run many laps over the rug (and heard her training on her own in the wee hours of the morning. The rug has not budged. This product is great. (my only complaint is it is a little thick, if you have a thin rug you will definitely be able to feel the pads in the corners, but I don't mind)

Sticks to floor great but not so much to the rug.
These really do stick to the floor and that side of the adhesive can be washed and reused. However the side that sticks to the carpet doesn't stick so well. When you attempt to remove them from the floor, they stick to the floor but pull off of the rug. You might be able to get it to stick to the rug again and put back down but it is iffy and for sure won't work after lifting again. Only half the problem is solved. Unfortunately they don't work if they don't stick to the floor and the rug. So, they will work really well as long as you never try to move or pick up the rug.

Eh.
Well..I bought these for two rugs with two different needs. One for an area rug in the living room that doesn't have a backing and loves to slide around. The gel pads have worked wonderfully for it. Sometimes if we are roughhousing around, the rug will still move but is easily fixed. I used the other set for my bathroom rug. My review is kind of right down the middle overall because of this. Partially due in part by my own needs that this item just cannot meet, but hear me out. This is not for a bathroom rug if you are a neat freak. I used it for that rug because it also did not have a backing to keep it from sliding around the floor. The gel pads did the trick. Until it was time to clean the bathroom a few days later, time to pull up the rug. But overtime they lost their stickiness and when it came time to wash the bathroom rug as I normally do..I was left with the decision of removing the gel pads in hopes they would still have some life in them afterwards or just letting them go. Ultimately, I let them and the rug go. Purchased a new rug with a backing that won't slide around and called it a day. Not a bad item if you are looking for something that doesn't need to still be able to be removed/washed regularly.

Not for carpet with fiber/jute type backing.
Overall a disappointment. On the plus side the gripper does stick to a vinyl floor. Unfortunately the side that is supposed to stick to the bottom of a carpet only works if the carpet has a rubberized backing. The gripper side for the carpet does not stick well to a fiber or jute type backing. You can turn a rug upside down to attach the grippers and press down firmly for 20 to 30 seconds. They seem like they are stuck. Turn the rug over to place on the floor and the grippers will easily fall off the carpet before you can get it on the floor. If you get lucky and the grippers do stay attached, when you lift the carpet edge to peel off the plastic sheet to expose the side the adhesive side for the floor; peeling off the sheet pulls off the gripper from the carpet. The coated paper sheet covering the carpet side of the grippers is also a problem. I purchased 2 boxes, 4 grippers per box. For one box only one sheet peeled off properly the other 3 could only be removed by pulling and stretching the grippers like a rubber band. For the 2nd box 2 of the 4 sheets peeled off correctly. Fortunately the stretched grippers did return to normal size and shape. Basically I could not use the grippers on the 2' by 5-6' long heavier rugs I had. I kept them and used them on 2 smaller bathroom rugs with sticky rubber backing as extra protection. Won't buy these grippers again. Hoping to find something better that will stick to standard carpet backing fiber construction.
