It's a fun game!
I am a game collector and this is one of my favorites! It is an easy game, but it's really difficult to explain to others how the game is played because of the unique mechanics. You simply have to play a practice game to understand it. After just a couple of rounds, everyone has this "ah-ha" moment and they end up wanting to play it over and over again (fine by me!). Basically, each team has four secret words in four slots numbered 1 through 4 and, every turn, a team captain secretly draws a card with three numbers on it (4-3-1, for example) and then has to give clues, in the order written on the card, that describe the words in those slots. The clues are given out loud to both teams which then have to guess the corresponding slots of the word the clue is describing. Matching the clue to the word is pretty easy for your team (because they can see the words), but initally impossible for the opposing team. Over time, however, the clues accumuate and make it easier for the opposing team to guess what the word might be related to (and thus what slot number the clues might relate to). The opposing team gets a success token for guessing the order of your clues correctly, but your team does not. Your team will get a failure token if they incorrectly guess the clue order, but the opposing team does not. The first team to collect two success tokens immediately wins and if either team collects two failure tokens, they immediately lose. This game is only played over eight rounds, so it only takes about 45 minutes to an hour to play. This is a good game to play with anyone. I highly recommend it!

Great deduction game
What a great deduction game. Great for when the family come to visit or a light filler. The components are also unique, everyone is very intrigued when I pull the game out and start to set it up.

Fun party game!
A really fun party game! I think it's similar to codenames but more fun as everyone is working together to figure out the other team's code. Would definitely recommend!

One of the Best Games Ever
I bought Decrypto on a whim after hearing some friends rave about it, and now it's one of our favorite game night staples. It's the perfect mix of wordplay, deduction, and just the right amount of tension. The game has two teams competing to send and decipher secret codes using word clues — but the real magic is in how subtle and clever you have to be. You want your team to understand your clues, but not make them too obvious or the other team will catch on. It’s like Codenames meets Sherlock Holmes. The components are solid, and I love the retro tech aesthetic of the screen filters and folders. It feels like you're cracking Cold War-era codes with friends.

Directions weren't great, but the game was!
There are a couple things that could be in the directions that would help start playing/understanding this game a lot better. However once we (played with 4 people) did figure it out, it was a LOT of fun. I don't know how you could play with larger groups because you have enough other people's thought processes to navigate with just four, but it will be interesting to try. This game is similar to Code Names, but I think, way better. Great game for family game nights. Good value. Quality materials. Clever game. It's a must play.

Bought this a few years ago, and I still love it. A bit difficult to get a handle of it the very first time, but the instructions do a good job, and there's some YouTube videos out there too. Solid word game, and doesn't get boring.

Better than code names: easier for everyone on the team to play (young players and english as second language). However - a little harder to learn the flow. 'You do this, then we do that, then we intercept then you reveal' etc. My elderly parents struggled, whereas my 7 year-old daughter nailed it. We also struggled to remember the flow of play after a few drinks. If you get past the rules being a little clunky, it's an incredible game. Recommended playing 2 or 3 rounds in one sitting to get into the flow. Each round 15 - 30 minutes depending on how cryptic your team is able to be.

Probably the best co-op game I've played, but part of that is that it is only semi co-op. This is similar to Codenames in that divides the players into two teams, but it is so much better than codenames!

After playing it with my friends the first time, I knew I had to buy my own copy! It is really simple to pick up and play and a lot of fun. I think the people do have to pay attention and highly recommend having the other team think about the clues while not thier turn.
