It's like Sly 2 Revamped
I actually purchased the Sly Collection for PS3 and made sure I beat all 3 previous entries before playing this game, and while I can see how this game gave sufficient information of Sly's past, I enjoyed getting to know the characters over the course of 4 fantastic games. This particular entry into the series reminded me of the best of the first 3, Sly 2, but with improvements. Not only is the Treasure concept back in the game (no idea why it was taken out in the third instalment), but it is even better because the treasures are displayed in the safehouse. Also, once all treasures in each level are collected, the arcade opens allowing you to play minigames that are slightly more advanced versions of the various ones found throughout the rest of the game. Safes are also back along with secret bottles (again, no idea why the third game removed these) and each safe has a very cool and useful item inside. That's all I'll say about that.Concerning the graphics, I was stunned at how beautiful they look on the Vita's OLED screen. Not only are the environments themselves sparkling, but the backgrounds are also quite astonishing. As far as gameplay goes, the world is much more free-roaming rather than linear. Of course, each quest requires you to go to a certain location and steal keys, reach a destination without being spotted, or any of the other various tasks that are required of you, but because there are so many collectables (including the addition of Sly Masks which will require a lot of searching or luck to locate them all) keeps you playing for even longer. The replay value on this game it moderate for the casual gamer, but for completionists like myself, it is very high. This truly is a worthy sequal to the previous three games, and if you enjoy Sly Cooper, or if you have yet to give his adventures a chance, then I would highly suggest picking up the trilogy on the PS3 and definitely Thieves in Time.

Such a fun 3D Platformer
I got this for my Vita when it released and it hooked me instantly. I nearly platinum'd it and had a blast collecting all the bottles, treasures, and emblems in every world.Great music, responsive controls, wonderful voice acting and humor, memorable characters. Gameplay in Sly is like a great stop-gap between Jak & Dexter and Assassin's Creed. The game is cartoonish and beautiful, probably the best looking one on Vita so far (February 2012) and I'm glad I got it for my Vita. The only difference between the Vita and PS3 version is that the PS3 version opts for cel shading like Jet Set Radio/Okami/Viewtiful Joe that's really sharp on the TV, and the Vita version uses orthodox texture work. Still a very colorful game and absolutely everything else about the game is 100% faithful. I prefer to play anything I can on my Vita but if you have both versions you can transfer your save between them, through the cloud, with the touch of a button. It's quick and painless.I bought the physical, retail release of the game from Amazon because I like to collect good Vita games and I get to use all my 32GB memory card space on PSN titles that are download-only, as well as PSP and PSOne games.

A Shining Star in the Limited PS Vita Universe
Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time is a standout title for the PS Vita. Given the limited number of games available for the platform, this game shines brighter than it might have otherwise. Despite the Vita’s smaller platform, this game delivers an enjoyable experience that is sure to delight any gamer. A must-play for PS Vita owners.

A kids game
I thought this game would be like Crash Bandicoot or Spyro but it turned out to be a very kid like game. Its still fun but not my favorite. The gameplay is easy and it incorporates the touch screen well.

It's entertaining, but at times frustrating
I'll readily admit that I've never played a Sly game before this one. (GASP!) I picked it up because I was in a between-game-lull with my Vita and the demo seemed promising. The controls take some getting used to, but once you know what you're doing I felt that it was mostly intuitive. The whole X+O to interact with objects does seem a little odd, though. Otherwise, the graphics, story and gameplay are pretty average. This review could go into a lot more depth, but that's what IGN, GameSpot, Escapist and other websites are for. What bothers me about this game though is how frustrating it can be at times. I'm no stranger to gaming but sometimes parts of this game just really hit all the wrong nerves and I have to put it down. I shouldn't feel like I have to put a game down, I should want to keep playing it. It's all just personal feelings, but I wouldn't buy it again knowing what I know now. It will certainly entertain a person for many hours, but so will Uncharted: Golden Abyss and that game represents what Vita games should be.
