Chewie Trusts this Clipper
Update: I purchased this trimmer one year ago and have used it religiously to trim Chewie's paw pads and keep them neat and tidy. I still have not had to replace the battery! I'm not just using this for paw pads, I'm now comfortable enough with this trimmer to use it to clean up the area around the nose/eyes. If you keep a firm but gentle hold around your dogs muzzle, (and repeatedly say the words, "beef jerky... Beef jerky..." you'll be able to carefully trim the fur that grows up towards your dogs eyes. I hold the muzzle with one hand, and the clipper in the other. I hold the clipper upside down, facing away from Chewie's face. Then I trim starting between his eyes and going down each side, (-like an update down "v" if that makes sense.) I also use this to do sanitation trims. After one year, I'm recommending this product even more than every, and upgrading my review from 4 🌟 to 5 🌟. It works well, it's long lasting, its safe when used with care, AND you can purchase new replacement blades for it. The Cons: This clipper has a very, very limited user guide, printed on one side of a small piece of paper. All you will glean from reading this "instruction manual" is the names of the three parts that come in the box (the clipper unit, the blade guide, the cleaning brush), and how to insert 2 AA batteries into the clipper. That is the whole thing, so please know what you are getting before you purchase the Ruri-BL001 clipper. If you think that this is a clipper that can be used for a full body clip, or to do work on dense coats, you will want to look at other products, because this is not going to fulfill your expectations. Now that I have the cons out of the way, I will happily get to the pro's of this device. First of all, please note in my photo that Chewie is pretty darned unconcerned with this clipper being so close to him. I had to move the clipper away from his little nose because I had it running when I took that shot. The clipper has a very non-threatening, low-volume hum to it. It doesn't aggravate me, and after a few goes with it, Chewie clearly couldn't care less, either! A definite plus! Chewie gives me a horrified look when I use a hairdryer on him, so this attitude toward the clipper really proves that (for him,) the noise is not a stressor. Since I've used the clipper on him about 3 or 4 times, he also knows at this point that the clipper is not associated with anything that he should fear. Each time I introduced him to the clipper, we only did a couple minutes work on the underside of ONE paw, and than ended the session with a lot of praise and treats. The clipper comes with one attachment guide. I have another con regarding that clip-on guide comb: it is not easy to get on and off. This is why I am showing you the guide when it is NOT attached to the clipper blade. The guide has a lever that you push up or down to cause the guide to lengthen and shorten. This is really helpful to use if your pup (and you) are a little timid about accidentally hurting a paw or area around the face. I bought these clippers to clip the fur between Chewie's paw pads. I want to stress that you really need to be sure that you have carefully snipped any matts or tangles off your dog before you attempt this. Failure to do so will result in the clipper not performing well, and it will dull the blades. I very carefully trimmed away any matts and tangles from Chewie's underpaws with a pair of small, round tip scissors, first. Than I gently held the paw pads slightly apart and coaxed out any small tufts of fur that were wedged into the sides outward so that I could run over them with the clipper. If you do this little bit by little bit, you'll get the job done with good results. If you try to power your way through it, you may be disappointed. I will not use these clippers near Chewie's face, as I prefer to use round-tip safety scissors. It should also be said that I have not had to recharge this unit since installing the first set of batteries. The cordless aspect of them truly eases the difficulty of having to do delicate work with a cord getting in your way. To sum up: Despite the drawbacks I mentioned, I am still giving this product a rating of 4-stars. I am only knocking off one star because I believe that more documentation should be given for novice groomers who are still in that timid stage, afraid of hurting their pet.

I don't write reviews EVER...But I was very impressed with these clippers!
To start off--- I typically I don't have the time, nor have I found a true need to write a review for a product I have bought off amazon. To begin I will mention that I have been cutting peoples hair for the last 20 years, and am very comfortable around using clippers. I had bought these clipper/trimmers to use on our poodle-mix smaller size dog (18lbs, & 2 years old), which I have been cutting/grooming since he was a puppy. I have a professional set of dog grooming clippers, but found cutting around the paws came as a challenge. To be honest I was skeptical at first as to how well these small hand held clippers would work. 1) because they ran off a single AA battery, and 2) it was from a brand I wasn't as familiar with, and 3) I wasn't sure how they would feel during use. The clippers arrived as expected, and I immediately installed a battery (which isn't included). Turning them on I was surprised how quiet the buzz sound was. Upon inspection of the cutting blade, they looked to be steel and white plastic (but on how well they work, I am guessing that the white portion of the blade might actually be ceramic, which would make more sense.) The handle, and angle of the clippers, as well as the narrow tip and blade make them very easy to work with, and get into those very tight spots between the pads. They worked so well, that after I was done with all 4 paws, I decided to trim around my dogs eyes, and really test out these tiny little clippers. I will note that these clipper excel for DRY hair, but struggle some with areas they may be moist around the eyes from tears. The damp hair settles into the cutting blades, and you can hear the motor strain just a bit. Overall, it's not an issue, I use my larger professional grooming clippers for everything else. And now when it comes to doing the paws and between the toes I plan on ONLY using these new clippers. (EVEN if you have no prior skills in grooming or cutting hair these clippers are so user friendly that even my 12 year old was able use them)

Exactly what I needed! ***Well I thought it was. Only lasted a year.***
July 2020 This an update to my original review. I bought these clippers July 10, 2019. It's July 4, 2020 and the clippers are non functional. It does take a AA battery and it was changed frequently. But today, even a fresh battery is not producing any results. Did I get my money's worth? Probably. But I expected them to last longer than this. Yes I still loved them. And I am purchasing another one. Different type this kind. July 2019 These little clippers are perfect for getting the hair out from between the pads of my Pomeranian's feet. The clippers are quiet, very easy to hold and maneuver. No cord to get in the way. My poms. don't stress or get upset when I'm using these clippers around their pads. So far so good!

These clippers appears to be very cheap made. Not quality as the advert suggests. They stopped working first go after 5 minutes. I changed the batteries and they started working again but shortly after stopped. They no longer work at all. Cheap product I would not recommend. Oh and they cut too. These blades cut the dogs skin unlike any others Ive had. Would not recommend at all.
