Brilliant - simplicity at its best.⁵
Honestly, the best magnifier I have ever had! Firstly, its rectangular shape is more suited to using with alongside the horizontals and verticals of the printed page, secondly the handle means one hand stays out of the way and does not interfere with any viewing task. Thirdly, the handle is white creating a stark contrast with the dark, black of the reading frame. Fourthly, but not least, the fabulously bright LED lights which are optional but all add up to a greatly enhanced reading experience. Highly recommended.

This Has Magnified my World 👀 …More Designed For Left-Handed People I Feel 🤔
The media could not be loaded. This is a great magnifier with a built in LED light which is just what I was looking for. I’ve recently turned 50 and have now got into the shocking deteriorating of short-sighted eyes due to ageing 😕. I’ve been very fortunate and had perfect 20/20 vision until recent years but now have prescription glasses for reading etc. Although the prescription glasses are a big player in my life now I still struggle reading menus in dim lit restaurants and cafes etc, and even with glasses struggle to read tiny print on instructions, food labels, washing instructions etc. This is where this little beauty comes in…..it’s got an LED LIGHT!!! Genius and amazing. I can see everything in teeny tiny ‘Borrowers’ writing now. I wanted something for everyday quick use at home, but would also be light and convenient to slip into a handbag for when going out. This is perfect. Great magnification and a nice big magnifying area that enhances a good sized area. The glass on this magnifier is approx the size of my iPhone 8S screen, which is perfectly adequate for what I need. I much prefer battery operation to the USB charging versions out there too. I find USB charged items quite frustrating as they don’t appear to hold their charge for long, on items I don’t use frequently, so on the occasions I need to use them they’re flat. A battery is far easier for me. This takes 3 x AAA batteries conveniently located in the white handle. Yes it makes the handle a little weighty, but it balances nicely in the hand, and 3 small batteries aren’t exactly heavy. There’s 2 stages of light brightness on this. Both are bright and good for purpose. Good to have 2 light gradient options on the neck of the handle. It took me a while to find it actually. You automatically are drawn to the white axle pin cover for the folding arm mechanism….which it isn’t. It’s the black hidden on on the neck of the handle. You can still see me stupruggling to find it on my video I’ve attached. What a numpty!! 🤣. It also comes with a black cloth drawstring protector bag which is a nice touch for storing in drawers and putting in the depth of a handbag. The only thing I don’t like about this magnifier is it feels like it’s made and designed for left-handed people, which I’m not. I know this sounds weird, but my personal preference would be to hold this in my right hand so the magnifier is it the portrait position. Doing this the LEDs are facing my face and in my eyes as the lights are only on one side of the magnifier. When turning it into the landscape position in my right hand the handle feels slightly uncomfortable as it turns upwards not downwards in your hand, as if it’s for a left-handed person. It’s just a small gripe, and not enough of one to return it for the limited use it’s intended for. It’s a really great magnifier with powerful LED at the end of the day. I just wanted to give an honest and balanced review. I’d highly recommend this for those with similar eyesight issues to mine.

Works great but not quite big enough
Excellent magnification, great illumination. Most of the critical reviewers appear not to have noticed it requires 3 x AAA batteries, not two. Definitely for right-handed use: illustration shows underside. My only gripe is that it should be just a bit bigger to take in even a paperback page without constantly moving it.

Much admired by the over-80s!
I bought this for my 89 year old mum, who struggles to read fine print, especially in a poor light. She carries it with her everywhere, and uses it on a daily basis.I've lost count of the number of times her friends have asked me where I got it from - it's such an everyday-useful thing! It's the right size for a handbag, the folding handle is well-made and convenient for storage/ carrying it about, the light is brilliant- is such an easy thing to use, and it solves such an important problem for those who are slowly losing visual acuity (which is all of us as we age...).If you're looking for this sort of magnifier, you can't go wrong with this one.

Should have a bag
This is quite small, so good for reading instructions on packets or small print on paperwork, but perhaps too small and heavy for prolonged reading of a book. I don't understand the comment that it is for left handed people. I held the handle in my right hand and the light went down towards the page, not up to my eyes, which it would have done if I held it in my left hand. I am a bit annoyed that it came without the cloth bag to protect it from scratches, which would have been very useful. I can't be bothered to return it for a refund.

The meanies don't supply the 3 x aaa batteries!
Don't you just hate it when a product which needs batteries arrives without any. Note to manufacturer: Put the price up a little to cover the cost, but don't send it out without them. The actual magnifier and lights works well and is well-designed.
