I bought these to make an advent calendar for my 20yo daughter who loves all things Japan. There was a good selection of snacks and a handy booklet explaining what each snack was. My daughter is having a lot of fun opening her calendar each day and tells me the snacks are delicious!

My poor son was planning a one-in-a-lifetime trip to Japan just before the pandemic hit. Then, as things seemed to be opening up again, he began to make tentative plans again - only for omicron to play havoc with it all again. As a little Christmas fun gifts, I decided to get him some Japanese snacks as a sort of consolation prize/something to tide you until the real thing idea. This box seemed, to me, a reasonable price for quite a big selection of sweet and savouries. It wasn’t Prime one day delivery but it didn’t take very long to arrive. It comes in a medium-sized box which, when he opened it on Christmas Day, was absolutely filled to the brim, which made it seem a really good gift and a good deal. He’s enjoying the snacks - some of which are a bit out of the comfort zone of western tastes for snacks. But that is the point - a little taste of Japan. He thought it was a fun Christmas gift.

Best gift sample box

We enjoyed the variety of snacks included in this box, and the opportunity to try new and unique Japanese treats. The box has more sweet snacks than savory but that works perfect for me! One downside is the price point. A little pricey for the size of the box which is a lot smaller than I imagined, but still an enjoyable experience to try new Japanese snacks and treats.

It was fun and nice to try some random lil snacks from a different place. All packages are small so if you don’t like something it’s not as much waste it comes with a sheet to explain what everything is. Definitely fun with a friend
