Everyday low prices and free delivery on eligible orders. Review: Masterworks for a reason- these a advanced and beautful songs. - I bought all 3 of Margaret's books as they have such great reviews from so many people- Compendium, Anthology and the Masterworks (this one). Compendium and Anthology are amazing books and good for medium to advanced players. This book however is much harder and worth it. I've played acoustic for years but only been playing classical for a few months so this book is in storage until I progress. They're all doable, don't get me wrong, but it will take me a long time to progress with them so will wait until the classical guitar is easier for me and be able to pick these songs up quicker. The other two books, Anthology and Compendium are my go-to books now. I rarely touch anything else as the songs in there are amazing and most people who like classical will know all of them. I would suggest buying Anthology and Compendium first, work through those and then buy this and spend time progressing into masterworks. If you're an advance classical guitarist this will be perfect for you. They're hard songs but doable and, as per all 3 books, they sound amazing. Margaret is a great write and clearly spent years creating these works for other players to enjoy. All 3 books are a must for any mid-player and beyond. Excellent Varied Selection
I've got first two books (music and tab) by Bridget Mermikedes - and this one continues with the same high standard as the other two. This is another wonderfully varied selection put together by someone who really knows how to bring out the best of the guitar in her arrangements. The tab notation is a useful addition for someone like me who isn't that fluent in standard notation. Many of the arrangements also sound great on a steel-strung guitar. Some of the pieces will be quite a challenge for the intermediate guitarist but others are very accessible at the first attempt. Highly recommended!

Absolute masterwork
I'm addicted to her books. This is the 3rd one I bought by Bridget and I'm so impressed, again, with the musical sense and taste she arranges a wide variety of tastefully selected music into classical guitar pieces that you could think that they were originally written for the classical guitar. This collection seems the hardest one out of the 3 (at least for me).

Highly recommended.
Superb arrangements of baroque, classical and romantic pieces, including tablature fingering for those who do not read music. There is also a helpful link to download to listen to Bridget playing the pieces, a delight in itself. The collection is attractively presented, the print large, easy to read, and clear - highly recommended for any serious would-be classical guitarist.

Another masterpiece of masterpieces.
Another set of perfect classical guitar arrangements, and the formatting is even better in this.

Missing piece in my copy - 'Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini'
Overall a good book, but if you're buying it for 'Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini', which is advertised to be in the book, my particular copy has a Fernando Sor piece in its place on page 101. That piece was my main motivation for choosing this book. You'll see the Sor piece shoehorned in down the list, not in correct page sequence, and only one Rachmaninov piece. I've taken off a 'star' for this reason, because it seems my only option now is to purchase the arrangement separately via the link under Bridget's YouTube video of her performing the piece. It could just be my copy that's faulty, a printing error, or the book has been updated and the product details haven't been? I'm not sure how that would explain the incorrect page sequencing though. However, I do feel disappointed and misled into buying it. It does need to be corrected, even if it's an honest mistake.

15/31 songs in special altered tunings
15 of 31 pieces in this book are in altered tunings, some in D, some more individual. This is crucial because this changes every single note on the fretboard. This is relatively easy if playing with chords, though still a nuisance having to retune, however for classical, it's certainly not at my level. I can't understand why no one else has mentioned this. It's being returned for this reason. I would have given zero stars if I could. I don't even know if tab and notation match up - I play but music, not tab. Is the tab correct and the notation out, is the notation written in key? It's all just very weird to me and I've only being playing music for hmmm hmmm years!! Note to Amazon.... Please, Your customers need to see examples of music and/or be told if this is the case. We are buyingusic for the most part without seeing what it is.
