Does what it says it does
I bought this about 3 months ago when I was looking for a bluetooth beacon to alert me when my luggage arrived. This was pretty much exactly what I was looking for. The app lets you configure one or more beacons, the transmit power and how often the beacons occur. I've had it on transmit power (but also longest beacon interval) and the app says the battery is still at 97% after the 3 months of constant beaconing. Note- the app won't generate this alert when the device is in range; you'll need a 3rd party app for that. The battery is replaceable with 3 simple screws and takes a standard 3032 button cell. This feature is head-and-shoulders above the mainstream beaconers that have batteries that can't be changed. Also, the device is pretty light and relatively small. I'm a little confused on why someone gave this 1 star and no comments..?My only complaint was that I ordered a white one and received a yellow, but since I keep it buried in some pocket on in my luggage I don't really care. When the beacon interval is set to 2 seconds (max time) it will take about 15 - 30 seconds for my app to see the beacon. When the beacon interval is set to .2 seconds then my app will see it almost instantly. The transmit power is pretty good too. When set to the maximum 20dB, I can see it everywhere in the baggage terminal and depending on where my seat is on the plane, I can even see it in the luggage hold - which is nice peace-of-mind to be 100% sure your luggage is loaded. You can also configure multiple types of beacons (iBeacon, eddystone, etc) and configure custom data within those beacons. This doesn't really do much for my use case, but someone may want to utilize those features and they are available, if desired.
