VELUX Original Roof Window Anti-Heat Awning Blind for PK10, P10, 410, 3, PK08, PK06, PK04

We live in a two storey townhouse and have five Velux windows on our top floor. In the summer months, the top floor becomes unbearably hot and we had to invest in a portable air conditioner just to cope. These Velux anti-heat blinds are absolutely brilliant in helping keep temperatures down. They cite that they block up to 80% of the suns rays and can cool a room down by up to 4 degrees and I’d say that sounds legitimate from my experience. It’s been much more comfortable in our house since we installed these blinds and we can still see outside perfectly fine too. They can be retrofitted to any Velux blind as they fit into pre-existing slots or use existing screws. Brilliant product, especially for the price.

This product was used to reduce the heat and glare from two Velux roof windows - the roof has been converted to a bedroom for our grandsons in France. Immediately the blinds were installed, you could feel the difference. I am so pleased that as soon as we return home, I shall order four more. The quality of the product is exceptional and my husband had no difficulty affixing them. Having seen the quality of the blinds, we shall also measure up for the anti- mosquito frames. Genuinely delighted with this product and can thoroughly recommend them.

These blinds are easy to install, they work very well on keeping the heat out during sunny days. In the winter they can be un-hooked and rooled up while still beigin fitted to the window so they can be re used next summer.

Had a dormer built at the start of year with 2 south facing velux windows. On the couple of days this year it wasn't raining, the internal temperature went over 31. Was way too hot. Figured due to all the insulation, the heat comes through velux windows and the insulation helps it stays hot which is hard to cool. These shades stop the heat build up in the first place. Now need not raining day to test.

Ordered this blind as the summer months have always been far hotter in the loft bedroom. Arrived quickly and was installed in less than 10 minutes. The difference is noticeable. the window used to act like a heater in the mid-day sun you could feel the heat radiating from it. now its cool to the touch and that reflects in the temperature of the room.

Really happy with these. My loft is absolutely BOILING when the the sun is out to the point it was unbearable. These have definitely made a difference to the overall temperature of the room on these days without having to cover the windows completely so you can’t see outside - I would really recommend. I have the Velux blackout blinds which are attached within the window frame and these are brilliant. However, in the summer the blinds were closed to block the sun living me in perpetual darkness during the day. The awning blinds allow light to enter the room and are fantastic!! The awning blinds sit outside the window frame and I had to look at a few youtube videos to workout what to do - it then took 10 min. I initially bought one to try out and was so happy with the outcome I bought another!

Store extérieur uniquement pour limiter la chaleur causée par le soleil au travers du Velux, et de ce point de vue, ça fonctionne plutôt bien (le soleil ne tape plus directement sur la vitre) de ce que j'ai pu constater pendant quelques jours de chaleur. Limite aussi la lumière, sans plonger dans le noir non plus (toile un peu type moustiquaire, donc avec des trous). Mode d'emploi sous forme de dessins / pictogrammes, mais en gros les pattes de fixations vont sur l'enrouleur puis se vissent à des endroits déjà pré-marqués d'origine sur le velux, se vissent même à la main, inutile de sortir la visseuse. L'enrouleur est alors à l'abri dans le caisson creux en haut du velux. Pour les crochets, ils se placent côté extérieur à l'emplacement de deux vis noir. Là, les choses se compliquent si le velux n'est pas à hauteur de personne puisqu'il faudra soit grimper en hauteur pour aller mettre la barre sur les crochets, soit une canne peut-être telle que celle prévue pour ouvrir et fermer ces fenêtres trop hautes, mais la mienne ne permet pas de tenir la barre du store (vieux modèle?), je compte donc en fabriquer une avec plus une sorte de fourche / diapason pour pousser et tenir la barre du store plutôt que la crosse en C de la canne velux normale (le C tient bien la barre, mais se coince dans la toile quand on veut l'enlever, pour être bien sans canne il faut pouvoir accéder à la main au bas extérieur de la vitre en retournant le velux). Côté qualité, c'est du Velux, pas à se plaindre, métal et plastique costaud, toile en fibre assez épaisse et a priori résistante. Il faudra voir au fil des ans si ça tient le soleil et le mauvais temps.
