Warm, cushy, comfy, durable socks!
I love these socks!!!! And apparently Wal-Mart does not sell these anymore... I bought a pack of these socks probably around 5-6 years ago, it may have actually been longer than that... Anyway, they are still great, and are my favorite socks (except for the ones I've lost or accidentally bleached lol -- which is the only reason I'm ready for a new pack now!) I like to wear black socks, because when you wear black pants, it just seems that black socks look better than white ones if you're wearing low shoes. I wear these almost every day throughout the winter with my boots as well, and I wear them around the house all the time. They are just thick enough, but not too thick...just right, cushy and comfy. They do not wear holes in the heels or toes or anywhere else, like other socks do. I think not having to bleach them like white ones probably helps with that -- but it's also because the material is thick and durable, and these socks are just well-made. They do not stretch out and get all floppy either. They stay nice and fit on your feet. I even wear them over other socks when I double-up on cold winter days, and they still don't get stretched out. So they're perfect for doubling up too... They are just warm and comfortable, and last forever. They also stay fairly colorfast; after all these years, the couple of pairs I still have left are not extremely faded. Love 'em. Best socks I've ever had.

Almost 5 But No
The socks are thick and breathable too. I assumed they would help me fit into a pair of boots and they do. I just need insoles for the shoes just because I have semi-weak ankles. Regardless, I'm giving them 4 not 5 because:- They fit between size 4-9 or 4-10, I wear a size 7 or 7/5 shoes but feel a little loose - in a good way but I like fairly slim fitting socks (I'm picky)- Warm --> you can already feel your feet being warm at a breathable level BUT the socks aren't all that super soft on the inside YET they are still comfortable just not as soft and fluffy as I assumed- Still comfort level is 10 why? I am satisfied regardless of my picky assumptions- Warmth level is 10 why? My feet are indeed kept warm and they're not sweating- Why 4 and not 5 stars? I assumed too much and was slightly sad BUT that doesn't mean I'll tell people not to buy these.

Perfect socks
I love these socks!! I had previously bought them and worn them until they were literally falling apart because I couldn't remember where I had gotten them (there's no logo on them) so was very happy when I checked my order history (duh) and there they were. As another reviewer described, they keep my feet warm in the winter and cool in warmer weather. Most of my clothing is casual all-cotton for comfort so I am a little surprised I like these so much because they're not all cotton. I do not have a problem with fit but my feet are size 10 which is the upper end of the range for these so that probably helps. Also they are not so tight on my legs to leave marks like some other socks, which has started to bother me as I get a little older. The knit does feel a little different from other socks--maybe they're purled? But so comfortable when I'm wearing them. Thanks, Fruit of the Loom!! Please keep making these. :)

Used to be nIce socks -- now huge and baggy
Nice socks. No problem staying up. I’ve only washed them a few times, and so far they are staying black. They are a medium thickness, nowhere near as thin as a trouser sock, and not too heavy to wear with boots. They might be too warm to wear in summer, but I usually don’t wear socks in summer unless I am going to be on my feet for a very long time.I would buy them again.Update, October 2016:I originally gave these socks five stars. I recently purchased another package of these socks. My gosh, what a difference. The new package has completely different socks. Heck, they're not even socks, they're sacks. Just big and baggy. They stretch out so much during the day, when I take them off, they are shapeless bags. I am so disappointed. Oddly, they do stay up, no flopping down. But they are so wide and baggy, that they twist all up in the foot area. They also pill.I wear a size 7 shoe, and this latest package is not suitable for a foot that size or smaller. It's sad to think that the company may improve these and produce the good quality socks again, but they've lost me as a customer so I will never know.

Short, but good quality
The socks seem very durable, spongy soft, and a good fit. The downside is that they are pretty short. I like something that will come to a little above mid-calf. This falls about three inches short, so I'm conscious of where they are when wearing jeans. They do tend to scrunch down, so they are only about four inches above my ankle by the end of the day.Remember the old cotton slouch socks. Boy, I loved those things! They have gone with my youth, it seems. This is what I chose as a substitute and they'll do.Bottom line: it's a good sock. But, it ain't no slouch-so to speak. My rating is for quality more than personal satisfaction.

Great For Food Servers!
I wait tables and log at least 12,000 steps a shift. The restaurant requires black socks and instead of thin dress socks I opted for these because 1) they're like black athletic socks with cushion and comfort and 2) the price!I've seen some of the reviews with people complaining about the roughness and size issues but I didn't think either one bothered me at all. I wear a size 7 and these fit. They're a little shorter than crew socks, but that doesn't really bother me since I wear them with slacks.Yes they're not the softest/smoothest, and they will pill, especially if you walk a lot, but they are cheap! And they have lasted a long time (almost 2 years at work!)I would only wholeheartedly recommend these as an add on item! Full price? Maybe.
