Camco 1500W 240V Screw-in Water Heater Element - High Watt Density (02163)

Wanted 40 gallon water heater but only have a 20 amp circuit on off grid solar inverter. Changed out the two 4500 watt elements with two 1500 watt elements. Has worked great for two months so far.

If you need to reduce amp draw (240V) then this heating will do the trick for you Just know that it will have a slow recovery

What more could you ask for? If you are planning on using this in a water heater you should already know what you need. Make sure your heater uses 240v and not 120v. I used this for a project making a sous vide water bath. I won't bore you with the irrelevant details, but I used a screw-in flange for water heaters to attach this heating element to the project bath. The gasket was effective in preventing leaks, but I went ahead and used caulk for aditional waterproofing. This element is powerful enough to heat 5 gallons to boiling in about 30 mins, so think of it as a small project heater, or plan on a well insulated tank with enough time to let the heater work.
