LED Back-Light Calculator Desktop SMT-200 / Added Sound Function (White)

This item has a lot of negative reviews and was cautioned with its high return rate. It was the only battery operated calculator with a backlit display at a great price point. I took my chances and ordered one. There were many negative reviews about the backlight not working. Mine works fine. You can turn off the confirmation beep if needed. Yes, the decimal key is located in an awkward position. That was not a dealbreaker for me. I’ve had it for over a week now and it’s still working perfectly. I hope this review helps with deciding to purchase.

I've been so disgusted trying to read LCD calculators, and have often wondered why I can't just pay a little bit more for one that I can actually read. Finally, browsing around, I found these little beauties. They are exactly what I was looking for. First off, there is a nice backlight, which makes them easy to read. LOVE THAT! Then, they have a sound function which can be turned on or off. Personally, I love having it on so there's an audio clue whenever a button is pushed. Speaking of buttons...the buttons are HUGE, making them easy to find and easy to use. My only quibble, and it's one that I'll get used to, I'm sure, is the placement of the decimal key. It's up at the top instead of down at the bottom where I keep looking for it. Not a big deal, but moving it to the bottom would make these perfect.

It seems to be a nice calculator but I was disappointed that it's not a musical calculator like my 1970s school days had. Its the same sound. I'm keeping it though because its easy to read and I like the dual power as opposed to just solar.

I use a calculator for basic "at home" tasks, but was having trouble seeing the numbers. I searched and searched, but could never find one with a light. Then one day, I found this one, and it meets my needs perfectly. I wish it had an "Off" button, but that is such a minor annoyance, it's not a real issue. This is the first calculator I have ever had with the "decimal point" button at the top - all my other calculators had it at the bottom, which makes more sense. I keep hitting the "equal" button that's at the bottom, but I'm getting retraining my brain to remember better at remembering it's at the top. Again, not a huge problem, just a moderate annoyance. Other than that, it is a basic calculator that does what I need it to do. I recommend it.

So disappointed in this purchase. Chinese writing all over box And instructions. Finally saw two little lines telling what to do for operation. I ordered because of poor Eyesite and expected it to light up numbers so I could see but light is barely on and shuts off right away. I won't bother sending it back, Probably throw it out. I scanned all the LED calculators and they all lock the same. I needed one that advertised "lighted" and this is a 1 out of 10. 10 being worst.

I bought this because I thought, erroneously, that back lit meant the screen and the keys would be visible in a dark room so that I can still work while my granddaughter sleeps at night. The screen does light up but not the keys. Overall this is the only thing I found that I did not like about this item. The keys are spaced nicely so that you can see them in the light and not hit the wrong keys. All the functions work, it is a nice little desktop calculator for doing basic math functions.

It's light weight. Feels a bit on the cheap side BUT it works and serves it's purpose. I'm happy enough with it. I can't speak to longevity as I've only had it a few weeks

Liquid Crystal calculator displays just do not make it--too difficult to read--dark grey on light grey--plus an annoying shadow on top making it difficult to tell a one from a seven. Even expensive ones have the same problem. This is the best calculator I've had since the one I bought 48 years ago that had a red digital display . When it finally failed recently I've been looking for a good replacement and this is the best I've found.
