4x4 Wood Pyramid Post Cap by Captiva - One-Piece Miterless - 3/8" Extended Lip - (3-1/2" x 3-1/2")

I would love to of kept the beautiful natural color but wanted them to match my railing. They took the stain very well and I know they will last a long time. Pricy but you’re getting what you’re paying for here.

After having to replace cedar caps a couple of times--they last a few years but end up rotting although they were painted--I think I have found the perfect replacement. Being made our of mahogany and in one sole piece, these caps should last for years and years to come. They are pricey, but in the medium-long run they are worth the money and will repay their cost. Just replacing the previous caps twice cost me more than these caps.

Nice, smooth, one piece, not too big and showy, but seem like nice quality. Put atop a cedar fence. Color is a tad darker but it still blends well. One post was slightly thicker and the side of the base snapped off of the cap when we tried to push it down into place, so I took off a star.

Whatever was applied to wood is bleeding threw my white paint. Not happy.

As the saying goes, you get what you pay for. Very happy with the quality. For me this was a splurge item after staining backyard fence. I would say a bit over-priced. But I would buy again. Semi-Transparent stain fish-eyed a bit on first coat so I would recommend sanding a bit before staining. But a second coat cleared the issue. I installed with pin nailer rather than follow recommended method of using an adhesive product. If you need to replace a fence post it would be hard to salvage the cap if it were permanently attached. And it this price you would want to salvage the cap.

I was looking for post caps for interior railing for our remodeled stairs. Tried one but the sides were a different wood and the stain looked terrible. With this coming from one piece didn’t have that problem. These are worth the money
