Disappointing bc of packaging
I was super excited to find a decently priced polvoron, until I had the first one because it tasted like the packaging. Each polvoron is wrapped in a colorful plastic wrapper and then they are all packaged in a clear plastic. You have to get them out of that outer clear packaging and let them air out to remove the very offensive chemical/package flavor. That was a major turn off because if it tastes that way, then how safe is it to consume? They are a nice big size and seem to be well made, they are just ruined by the nasty packaging. Such a waste!

Filipino Powdered Milk Cookies.
I've been wanting to try ube since I first learned about it from Steven Universe. This is the second ube flavored product I have tried and I'm still not getting any particular flavor.I tried making Filipino Polvoron a couple of years ago and didn't like how they turned out. These comercial Polvoron are better. Unless I can get a Filipino grandmother to make some homemade I will have to make do with store bought. The texture of these cookies is very similar to my mom's Russian tea cakes. Which are similar to Mexican Wedding cakes, which are also called Polvorones. But these Polvoron are made with powdered milk and are not baked. The flour is toasted and then the ingredients are compacted, not baked together. They are very dry and crumbly. The Ingredients are: Wheat flour, powdered skim milk, sugar, ube (purple yam) powder, food coloring, and butter. No nuts.

Too powdery--too sweet
Not enough ube flavor. Too powdery dry. Have a glass of water nearby. Also, way too sweet. Tastes like powdered milk with lots of sugar and tinted purple to look like ube--but, no ube flavor.
