Smooth, Stable, and a Perfect OEM - My Amazon Review
If you want your Fender to hold tuning like a champ while keeping that authentic look, these American Standard tuning machines deliver. This set of 6 comes exactly as expected — solid build, polished chrome finish, and the exact fit for USA and American Standard series Fenders. Installation was a breeze on my Strat; they dropped right in without any drilling or modifications. These do have the 2 pegs on them for Fender necks. They also come staggard so the 2 tallest ones go last. The tuning action is smooth and precise, with just the right amount of resistance to make fine adjustments easy. Once tuned, my guitar stays locked in, even after heavy bends and whammy bar use. The sealed housing feels premium and should last for years without gunking up. The aesthetics are classic Fender — clean, bright, and factory-fresh looking. If you’re replacing old or worn tuners, this is a direct replacement that keeps the original vibe intact. TRD Toyota: Perfect OEM fit for American Standard Fenders Smooth, precise tuning with no slippage Sealed gear design for long-term reliability Beautiful chrome finish that matches factory hardware Tricia Toyota: Designed specifically for certain Fender models — won’t fit all without mods A bit pricier than generic tuners, but worth it for the quality and authenticity Bottom line: A must-have if you want to restore or upgrade your Fender without sacrificing originality or performance.

Good upgrade or replacement tuners
Of course they're good. They're Fender tuners! Nice and smooth. I used these to upgrade the tuners on a Squire Strat HH, which i had to drill out the holes in the neck and add a screw hole for the mounting screw on each tuner. Not plug-&-play for my particular application, but definitely worth the effort.

New Fender Tuners for the Squier
Before buying my Squier, I knew I was going to replace the tuners. It was just a question of what to buy. These Fender tuners are a bargain. Fender OEM tuners were the right compromise between quality and price for my new Squier (Standard Stratocaster Rosewood, Antique Burst). Yes, drilling is required, which is something I had hoped to avoid. Both tuners have the same shaft size (10 mm?), so there are no “major” issues. However, the backside of the Fender tuners is slightly larger than Squier’s. Instead of the common setscrew setup, both types of tuners have two, short, 3/32 inch diameter pins. The Fender pins are a little farther from the shaft. Therefore, another pair of holes is required for each tuner. The distance between the old and new holes is very small. You’ll need a “sharp” drill bit and a steady hand to keep the drill from slipping into the old hole, thereby creating a notch instead of two separate holes. If this happens, I suggest using a fast curing, two-part, wood epoxy to fill the notch, then re-drill, maybe start with a smaller pilot hole. These Fender tuners worked fine for me and my Squier. It just took some effort. Oh, by the way. These are “staggered’ tuners, meaning the shafts have different lengths. They are marked with Roman numbers. The set here comes with (from longest to shortest): one VI, one V, two III, and two II.

Didn't fit.
Great quality, and craftsmanship..just didn't fit my guitar.. I have a Squier Jazzmaster Vintage Modified and I took off the original tuners and these tuners were a lot shorter and left me under a half inch for the strings..I'm lazy and didn't return them but instead I suppose I'll just keep them for spare parts or resell them locally.

Night and day compared to the cheap standard tuners
Why did you pick this product vs others?: Installed these on an "Indio Classic" also purchased from Amazon. These combined with a genuine Fender Strat bridge and proper intonation have greatly improved tuning stability and precision. It's night and day. As others have noted these are staggered, however only one of mine was stamped with Roman numerals (III) the rest were Arabic (standard) numbers. I just took the tallest 2 and used one for the low E and the other for the A string and put the rest on the first 4 strings since they all appeared to be the same height. I do have a string tree on the High E and B strings. My neck required drilling the headstock so the pegs fit. If you have to drill my suggestion is to install the tuners loosely then clamp a straight edge to the back of the headstock and line the tuners up. Tighten down the nuts on the front just enough so the pegs on the tuners can make an indentation on the back of the headstock (make sure the tuners don't move when you do this). Remove the tuners, drill out the indentations (5/64" drill bit was the perfect size; make sure you don't drill all the way through!) and reinstall them.
