SMW is more sharp and this is more rounded. The scent is great. It’s a subtle green tea note. Very aquatic. Smells of fresh water. A cold brew sweetened iced tea. The opening is like a fresh cut lawn. Very green. The dry down is a blast of water. Like a fresh iced tea. Ladies compliment this fragrance. It’s a clean scent. You can spray a lot and it won’t be offensive. Fragrances can’t be cloned. If you’re looking SWM this is close. The notes that this gives off are pleasing. Longevity is poor. That’s why you spray 8+ times around your neck. Again, this scent is not offensive. 4 hours later you can reapply. The value is tremendous. For $20 you can buy one for home, the car and the office.

Subtle drydown, but overpowering unless I go lightly with spritzes on my shirt and it lingers for about 1/2 the day. Didn't like it at first, it doesn't do well on my skin, but better on my clothing. I spritz my shirts after hanging in the closet, also my bedding and they always smell great. Never smelled SMW, but this smells pleasantly masculine. Not powdery which is good for me. The dry down is better, but very subtle. Price point is worth a blind buy, but it's not for everybody. It doesn't smell like Polo green or anything like that. Hard to describe. It's sweeter, more floral, but fresh and even unisex.

So I blind bought this after seeing good reviews and the scent profile, hoping for a good summer scent. The first 2 sprays smelled like bug spray and I thought I had wasted my money. After about 30 seconds that smell went away and I was left with the scent I was looking for when I ordered this. A bright, green, slightly metallic (in a fresh way, not at all unpleasant) scent remained and my initial fear was put to rest. That heavy alcohol/bug spray scent has not returned in subsequent uses, so I'm guessing the sprayer just had a high concentration of alcohol in it that needed cleared away. I give the scent itself a solid 4/5. A bright scent that I'll be wearing a lot this summer. That being said, the projection and longevity are quite dissappointing. It projects well for about 1-2 hours, then sticks closer to the body. After about 4 hours, the fragrance is gone completely and you'll have to reapply or put something else on. Even if you aren't a sissy sprayer, the smell will not stay too long. For the price, this is a solid fragrance. If you've recently embarked on your fragrance journey, I'd recommend giving it a shot. If nothing than to expand your nose's palate. But it's a cheap fragrance, so don't set your expectations too high.

If your looking for something Reliable with a good price and hangs with some longevity.. THEN TURN AWAY NOW!!!! My wife loves the scent while I’m ok with it . It reminds me of Irish Spring soap. But my biggest issue I have is the Longevity. 7 sprays will still only get you about 1-2hr. There is plenty of other Colognes for that price in the market that PLAY better. To make it worst you can’t return to this seller.

For all those wanting a SMW smell but without the deep price tag...this is 100% your scent. On the initial spray you can tell the very slight difference, this is let metallic smelling but still very fresh and aquatic like SMW. On the dry down they are almost impossible to tell the difference even in the sillage. Don't doubt it, trust this review and you will not be disappointed. One thing to note, if you are familiar with the real SMW then you know its a very subtle fragrance and does preform a long time, it is the exact same with this fragrance.

I'm no cologne afficiando, I just know what I like. Two things, I hate buying a trendy cologne like Paco Rabanne One Million, etc;. that thousands of men are wearing. To me, what I smell like should be rare and distinct. Someone once told me that if you can smell the cologne, you've got too much on. You should only be able to catch a whiff of it as you go about your day. This is a great smelling cologne very unique, not too flowery and sweet. I think longevity is a matter of perspective, I can smell this on my clothes days after having sprayed it. It doesn't resemble any of my other colognes so it fits into my repertoire nicely, I like to wear this one for out and about. If you want to know how this smells, throw on a pair of nice jeans and a shirt, spray a few squirts on your shirt and neck area and watch as women, take a peek at you after you walk by...LOL. FYI, ladies rarely complement a really well dressed, good smelling guy, they'll wait until you're in more intimate settings and then they'll admit, "You always smell so good"...lastly, unless you're on the Forbes list, I think it's completely ridiculous to pay more than $50 for cologne you wear frequently, this is the perfect balance between quality and price.

This smells fantastic. Super addictive but not overpowering nor offensive. At one tenth the price of Silver Mountain water who care if you need to reapply it a few times a day. It last half as long as SMW but cuts 1/10 the price. See the YouTube reviews where women choose SMV over Aventus.
