Best salt shaker ever!
Best salt shaker ever. Right size overall holes in top right size too. The side pour spout is useful. Have to keep eye on little kids when the used. Little grandchild was curious and opened it up. Had a little pile of salt in the middle of her plate!!

Great salt shaker!
Very useful. Was expecting something somewhat bigger - it's really more to be used at the table than in the kitchen. It's a standard sized salt shaker - holds maybe 3 oz of salt. The spout is very handy to pour extra salt. I love anything OXO - always well made and worth the money.

Very good replacement salt shaker
Our old salt shaker went kaput. It had a rubber stopper in the bottom that wore out and dumped salt everywhere, never mind when it worked you still had to turn the thing over to fill it and thus dump salt out of the top. Who puts the stopper in the bottom of the shaker? Not OXO! It was taking my wife forever to decide on a new salt shaker because, you know, it had to be just the right one. So in the meantime, I ordered this inexpensive little guy from Amazon and what do you know, it does the job. I'm just a tiny bit dubious about the pour spout on the side. I don't need to pour salt from the table shaker very often and I have a toddler who "gets into things". I think it's only a matter of time. But, hey, at least we now have a salt shaker that provides a good amount of salt when shaken, but not too much and is easy to fill. Maybe this will be all the salt shaker my wife needs. Now, what is that toddler getting into now?

Great for salt! (pictures misleading)
This is the OXO pepper shaker, which for some reason has MORE holes than the salt shaker. This one has 16 holes. You can see the difference in the picture with both shakers. Unfortunately the picture of the empty shaker is the salt shaker, and not what you will receive. (You can look up pictures on OXO's site too.) I have not used this for pepper. Sorry. I use this to keep salt next to the stove for cooking. Regular Morton salt with the umbrella girl. It's great in that shaking will dispense a hearty dose, but if you just hold it upside down the flow stops. This makes it hard to oversalt, but easy to dispense. The little flow spout works great too if you need to measure out a Tsp or a Tbsp for a recipe, but don't want to get the canister. It clips shut nicely without salt getting stuck in the mechanism. Also, I refilled this yesterday for the first time (after owning it a few months). It didn't spill any salt! I was amazed. It was also easy to refill. It doesn't hold a ton, the clear plastic is maybe 1/4" thick. All in all, it works great, it looks nice, and it's not glass (so it won't shatter if dropped). I highly recommend it.

Simple Salt Shaker
Not alot to say about a salt shaker, but I like the fact it is clear and I can see the salt level, and I do like the little pour spout, which precludes having to get out the large container if you need a teaspoon or two for a cooking recipe. Not the cheapest or fanciest one you can find, but this is the second one I've bought (accidently melted the first :-), so I guess that says it all.

Pour spout becomes loose
This salt shaker looks fine and usually works great. However, after about five years, the pour spout became loose and sometimes pours salt when I want only to sprinkle. It’s time for me to get a different model. Also, note that the body of the salt shaker is plastic, not glass.

Best for Salt with Small Crystals
I like it. It's a salt shaker, so I guess it's one of the few products that's hard to sing the praises of. When it works, it works! This one works. I use kosher salt and sometimes I have to shake kinda hard because most kosher salt crystals are larger than regular table salt. But still 5 stars because that's not the fault of the manufacturer (just something to keep in mind) and the holes are large enough to where I doubt they would clog easily under most circumstances.

I'm a big fan of Oxo kitchen utensils; I know they're not cheap and they're not cheap for a reason: they last. However, even I nearly balked at this price for a salt shaker. Having said that, because this has a pouring spout as well as shaker holes, it's perfect for what I wanted. A receptacle for table salt to sit with my other most-used condiments next to the hob. I use kosher salt for seasoning/finishing which I keep in a salt box but I didn't want another for table salt - which I use for salting water for cooking potatoes & pasta - and I also needed a salt shaker for occasional use (some of my family insist on table salt for chip shop chips for example). This does both & holds enough salt that I won't need to refill too often, and it looks good.
