Classic ragg wool has been keeping hikers warm and comfortable for centuries. Fox River's technical know-how adds performance durability while retaining that classic ragg look Review: I live in Darn Tough country, so I don’t say this lightly: the Fox River Norsk Heavyweight Crew might be my new favorite sock. It’s warmer, thicker, and somehow more comfortable without feeling bulky or swampy. There’s a soft, broken-in quality right out of the package that Darn Toughs take weeks (or never) to get. They’re clearly made for real use—hiking, cold floors, Vermont winters—but they also feel like something you’d wear just because your boots haven’t warmed up yet. No itching, no seams digging in, no sagging by noon. Are they indestructible like Darn Toughs? Time will tell. But right now, comfort wins. And these socks win. And for the record, I still love my Darn Toughs—these just surprised me. Review: Growing up I was always outdoors no matter what the season was and would wear wool socks year round because I appreciated the padding provided from the thickness of the socks and the comfort they afforded. I moved to California for a number of years and lived at the beach and not only did I get away from wearing wool socks I got away from wearing shoes! When I moved back east I explored more modern types of wool socks and because I had some foot issues found the modern socks irritated my feet. One day I found some of these socks at the bottom of my drawer and have been back in love with them ever since. The moisture wicking of genuine wool socks is one of the beautiful features of them and I have ordered several more pairs to put into my sock rotation. They are not cheap but most good things these days are not cheap. The comfort I get assures I have value for the money. I know many people don't embrace wool because they think it is itchy. I've never had a problem with that and I don't know if is because I buy good socks or if my skin is different. If you are an outdoor person and have not used these socks I encourage folks to give it a try. I gave it a 4 star rating instead of 5 (which may not be completely fair) because I feel like at least one pair is showing more wear than I thought it should but to be fair I may have mixed an older pair with these new ones. I will continue to buy these regardless

I keep replacing these sox over the years. I've been wearing them for over 50 years! They are still thick and comfortable. I also use them as house slippers. Feet don't sweat

These are the warmest socks ever. I have hypothyroidism so my feet get little circulation, thus get cold easily. My feet also sweat so it's a perfect storm of cold and wet. Popsicle toes to the max. Not with these mostly rage wool socks though. They're the ONLY solution in the winter!

They are Fox River Ragg Wool Socks, and have been for decades. The same product. They have pros and cons. I bought these for years, for particular trips, and they are great. Not as durable as you would think. But still a great product!
