Not sure why these weren't as nice as the single pairs?
I recently purchased the single pair of Woodlore shoe trees and liked those very much. Subsequently, I was delighted to see that the company was offering these 2 packs.I am unsure if I received a particularly good pair the first time, or if I received bad sets this time. Unlike my first pair, both pairs in this set arrived with rough areas on the underside of the trees where the wood was either not cut cleanly and left unsanded or had wood that splintered after manufacture. Additionally, the pin on the heel piece, which holds the sprint/rod in place, pokes out from the wood and is not fully secured in place. As a result, it wiggles from side to side, which may be why the wood is slightly splintery around the pin hole. In both cases, the rough areas could easily snag clothing or, with more delicate shoes, cause damage. As I generally use shoe trees on my nicer shoes, which in turn are often worn with nicer clothing; I don't want either my nicer shoes or clothing to get snagged or otherwise damaged. I do not necessarily expect the wood to be polished within an inch of its life, but I would expect that there be no particularly rough spots and that the hardware be mounted such that it cannot get caught on stuff. I am currently returning this set, and I hope to be able to get a set without these problems. I do not know if I will need to spend more money and buy the individual pairs to get shoe trees without this problem. If so, that may put a damper on my shoe tree buying. I will update my review once that is sorted.Otherwise, I am very pleased these shoe trees function exactly as expected. I've been using these on a pair of ankle boots to help them keep their shape between wears. These are certainly an upgrade from the stuffed tissue paper that I had been using. I like that the front piece is adjustable in width so it can easily fill out up many types of shoes. The spring is a little stiff at first, but it seems to be manageable. Since the rod can pivot, I find it helps to slide the front of the shoe tree into the shoe, push down on the spring when the rod is at a higher angle (where you can get an easier purchase on it), and then push the heel piece down in place before releasing the tension. In general, I think these appear to be true to the Woodlore sizing chart. I wear a size 6 shoe and have what s known as a low profile foot. I was bit concerned that the S would be too big/tall for my shoes, but I found the size S to fit quite well once the spring is pushed in. I haven't noticed any damage/stretching to the shoe, but I have only had this in more sturdy shoes. Given the stiff spring noted before, I would probably wait until the spring has softened a bit before trying these in a more delicate shoe like a ballerina flat.

Perfect for women's Gucci loafers
I really wanted some shoe trees for my Gucci loafers. Designer shoe trees seemed really overpriced, but a lot of shoe trees seemed too wide for women's shoes. These fit the Jordaan and Brixton loafers perfectly! The toe of the shoe trees is really narrow so it doesn't stretch out the loafers, the shoe trees simply make the shoes look appropriately shaped and filled out. These have definitely prevented major creasing in my loafers. Highly recommend! For reference, I use these with size 6.5 women's shoes.

Not adjustable
Good quality, they have a great smell of cedar because they are made of good cedar wood but the size is off by one size and you can't adjust them, as most of those inserts are made. It was a bit disappointing that they call them "adjustable". Maybe they are so hard to adjust that I never figured out how to do it and if that's the case maybe they are adjustable indeed, but in that case I'd say they are not user friendly at all.

Good for smell
This item worked well helping to control the odor of my daughter's daily used dance shoes. The only thing I didn't like about them was to make them fit in the shoe length wise it automatically widened at the front of the shoe which permanently stretched out her dance shoe. My daughter wears an 8.5 in dance shoes and I purchased the medium size shoe trees. I would give this product 5 stars if they could make it so it didn't widen in the front as you pushed in on the length. So overall, they helped with the odor but I didn't love the fit.

Shoe size 8M and pumps/sling-backs - I sized down to small
I wear an 8M/38.5 and I ordered the size small adjustable shoe tree. Why? With Woodlore's regular sale shoe trees, I have to wrestle the mediums into my loafers (this is good actually) but with a more delicate & expensive pump? No way. And buckled slingbacks? No way am I putting excessive pressure on the strap.Of course the above applies to *my* size and *my* shoes - YMMV

Very Nice
These all cedar- made in USA shoe trees are very nice. They are priced fairly and do the job. The ones I received do not have the Right, Left (R,L) markings to indicate which goes in the right shoe and which goes in the left but you can pretty much figure that out by eyeballingd them. I used them in high heel pumps - size 7 and size 7.5 and they do fit. A little bit thick in the back for a high heel pump but still OK. The elastic loop makes them easy to remove.

Great quality!
It’s so hard to find good cedar shoe trees for women’s shoes! The plastic ones are okay but they break and don’t absorb any moisture - plus they don’t smell nice! The size medium fit my size 9 boots and size 9.5 shoes just fine. Im happy I found these at a reasonable price so that I can maintain the shape of all of my footwear but especially my expensive boots.
