Love love this little bamboo salt container, it's actually quite pretty and looks very pottery barnish. I don't use a salt shaker I like to put pink Himalayan salt into this and use it sparingly. The lid slides away it does not come off. I bought it because my cat kept swiping the top off of my old one and now she cannot. It's very good quality and the color is beautiful.

I bought this so that salt is readily available next to my stove when cooking. It works great for my purposes! I can swing the lid to the side with one hand which was a big factor for me as I like to multitask in the kitchen. It stores a fair amount of salt too, about 2/3 to 3/4 of a cup of salt. I also like that it has the word salt engraved on the top. This makes it easy for guests to find and use. Some reviews mentioned a chemical smell when it arrived. Mine had a very slight smell but I scrub all my new kitchen items with soap and water before using and that made the smell go away for me. I haven't had any issues with it the magnet not working or any cracks forming in the bamboo but if something happens I will try to update this review! Again I have only had this about 1 month so durability cannot be tested at this time.

This wood salt cellar is very pretty and the easy opening and magnetic seal is great. It looks nice sitting out on my counter in easy reach of the stove.
