Is the formulation of the ingredients the same in the red jar and the individual package

No it is not. Just read the back of the red jar from England, and compare it to the tube from America. The tube is closest to the original formula, whereas the red jar is far from it. As for the red jar, it is closer to the green styling gel from Ed. Pinaud. Just scan the various examples of each product on Amazon, and you can read the same information I did.
