Just what I have been searching for
I have been searching for a long time for a lightweight cover for our bed to use during the summer. We live in NC & have hot summers but do have air-conditioning. I found cotton blankets to be too hot. We happened to stay in a Marriott suite hotel in June and they had this product on the bed and it was absolutely perfect and exactly what I’ve been looking for. After a little detective work with contacting Marriott directly and then the hotel directly I was pointed to Standard Textile Company which manufactures this product. They happen to be out of stock. Then I found it on Amazon and it was actually cheaper and it was in stock. Same product just a different retail source. I ordered it. It’s absolutely perfect. It’s just the right weight to give you the right amount of warmth without being hot. I use it in lieu of a blanket. It covers the bed very nicely and has enough drop on the side that it covers the extra high mattress completely. It’s so easy to launder, it’s just like a bed sheet. You just wash it and dry it and the puckered texture looks nice and I think it must be those little air bubbles in the puckering that gives you that little bit of insulation to keep you warm without making you hot. I can’t say that it’s a good value because I think it’s rather expensive considering it’s a sheet. The king size cost $100. To me that’s a lot of money for a single sheet. Since I have been looking for years for a product like this I was willing to pay that price to get what I wanted and I’m very happy with it. I bought the pillow shams so that the bed looks complete. (Edit) - I had to come back & edit my review after reading some of the negative comments. I agree not all people will agree but I wanted to clarify if you haven't seen this coverlet in person. We used one in a Marriott suite hotel & loved it. It has a rippled texture that happens when the coverlet is laundered. I realize some buyers may get a defective product but if you READ the directions upon receipt it instructs you to WASH the cover (or shams) in the hottest water setting & dry on high heat THE FIRST TIME to produce the puckering effect. Mine came out of the package with ripples but I did wash mine as instructed & it did pucker even more. The instructions also say to only wash on high heat the first laundering & then launder like regular laundry after that. This is a fabric blend of 65% polyester & 35% cotton. It is like a regular bed sheet in weight. Some reviews complained it was thin. That is why I like it. It's not heavy. It may be the fabric blend or the texture but for us w/ our AC set at 74 & a ceiling fan on it offers the perfect amount of warmth. As I mentioned above in the initial review, I have tried some cotton blankets & they were hot. This is just right for us....Before I found this item I used a regular flannel sheet on top of my flat sheet for cover. That worked for comfort & warmth but I still had to make the bed w/ my regular comforter. With this bedding as pictured in my photo, I packed away my heavy comforter & I use this coverlet on top of my bed sheets in lieu of a bedspread, quilt, or comforter. I bought the shams to coordinate with it. This coverlet has a nice finished 2" hem on all 4 sides so it has a nice finished look better than a standard hemmed flat sheet.....I have washed it (after initial hot wash) once since buying & I washed on Permanent Press settings & dried on the same. It looks great. I love that it is like a sheet & so easy to launder. My comforters are "dry clean only" so this is great & I can toss it in the washer with my sheets when I change the bed linens.

Hotel quality like in Grandma’s time
This is lovely. It’s exactly the kind and quality of coverlet my grandma used for those hot Kansas summers before air conditioning. I wish it came in more colors and sizes. It is as light as a bed sheet but much more attractive. I expect that with time and repeated washings, it will become even softer and more attractive. The price seems reasonable, considering they will last a lifetime. We also ordered extra pillowcases/shams. We got this bundled with queen siztsx free

Exactly perfect!
If you loved this at the hotel, as I did, you will be SO happy that Amazon has it on their site. I used it as a summer bedspread/blanket. Bright white, wonderful texture, machine washable and dryable - and a really good price for something used daily. (And I can easily remove cat hair, unlike other blankets or spreads.) I am very happy with it.

Overpriced, but definitely worth it
I am a bedding "snob" and am very picky about my bed looking pristine. I have used a white duvet cover for years and I am tired of having to wash it every week and wrestle for 20 minutes each time to get the duvet insert back into the cover. It's exhausting. After staying in a hotel recently, I discovered the "triple sheet method". Most hotels are now using a thicker "top sheet" as a duvet cover instead of a traditional duvet cover. I decided to try it with this Marriott cover and it is life changing. YES THIS IS BASICALLY A GLORIFIED TOP SHEET. But that is the point. However, it looks like a duvet cover when it is on your bed if you do it the right way. It is so much better washing this each week with my regular sheets and each time I wash it, it retains the "crinkly" look and looks fresh and crisp. I use two duvets b/c I like a really thick, fluffy look. I have my regular top sheet, my 2 duvets, and then this cover on top; the duvets are sandwiched between this cover and a regular top sheet. I tuck in all sides "envelope style" and the bed looks great! I will admit that $100 for a glorified top sheet is a bit excessive, however if you want the look of a duvet cover but the ease of washing a sheet, it's well worth the price.

Not Even Close
I would leave a zero if I could. This is nothing like the Marriott coverlet at the hotels, as depicted here. It's an 80/20 mix of mostly polyester and the texture is not 'rippled'. It's slightly dimpled and is cheap in quality and appearance. This is no different than a polyester sheet and definitely not worth more than $9.99. Maybe. . I've returned. An update, Amazon refunded me and let me keep the sheet. So I washed it to see if it's actually 'was activated rippling effect'. It isn't and still just a cheap polyester sheet. Marriott should be ashamed with this falsehood.

Worth the money and still beautiful!
I bought this almost two years ago to use as a "bedspread" for our split king adjustable bed. We live in Florida and I wanted something lightweight and stylish to cover about two-thirds of the bed. I turn it sideways for a little extra length on the sides of the bed. It does not go to the floor, so if you're looking for total coverage, this isn't it. I use it like the hotels do, but don't tuck it in. Follow the directions for the initial washing and drying. I just fold it up a little at night and when I put it back on in the morning, it looks great! It's exactly what I was looking for!

mixed feelings
i bought this because i wanted a coverlet, not a quilt or comforter, that was modern in design---needing a clean, simple, yet textured look for a bedroom renovation. and style-wise, that is pretty much what i got. i followed instructions to launder upon receipt so the rippled pattern would appear, and it did somewhat increase the relief of the pattern. i hope that it will do a little more on subsequent washings. it is big enough to cover the bed properly, unlike many linens recently purchased. i did think it would have a bit more weight to it, though...basically, it is slightly heftier than a sheet. if you are looking for the world's thinnest, lightest coverlet, this may suit you. i am a bit disappointed in the lack of thickness, as i had hoped for something more like a light version of a matelasse cover. we shall see how it holds up to laundering and whether texture becomes more pronounced. pros: pleasantly modern design compatible with minimalism, visually appealing rippled look. cons: extremely thin and light, texture could be more pronounced for better effect, price is quite high for something with the weight of a sheet.

LOVE!!!!!!
I’ve now bought three of these.. I love how they are very thin so you can layer them up with a down comforter or go as heavy or light as you need depending on the weather. These coverlets wash really nice over and over. It’s white, so I’m constantly washing it, but that’s fine with me. I know I’m sleeping on clean bedding! I love how it’s large enough to tuck in all the way around my king size bed for that classic hotel look. In our guest room I paired this with navy blue throw pillows and a blue blanket at the foot, looks so classy! Update: We have had this on our bed for a year and a half now.. the coverlet is still WHITE! I wash it with a scoop of oxygen clean... this amazes me because we have 5 kids who love to pile up on Dad and Moms bed and talk about the happenings of the day. It has gotten everything from chocolate to a nose bleed on it, and it all washed completely out! I'm so impressed with the quality of this coverlet!!
