The Crypto Trader: How anyone can make money trading Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies

This book was incredible! I had a difficult time putting it down. Finished in less than 48 hours, absolutely will read again. I am fairly new to the crypto world, and frankly the world of trading...having only opened my first stock brokerage account less than a year ago. This book was exactly what I have been searching for in every way. Glen wrote in a way that was very easy to consume but also tactical with justification and analytical evidence throughout the entire book. He was also quite entertaining at times which prevents the average casual reader from falling asleep at the wheel haha. The crypto space can feel daunting, but this book absolutely provided clarity and insight in many areas I had been lacking, e.g. general jargon in the space, differences between the types of coins, understanding trends and reading charts, very well written proven strategies, and so much more. I can’t recommend this book enough and will absolutely suggest to anyone I come in contact with that is either A) looking to get into trading stocks and or crypto, or B) has been in either space. I feel anyone good gain something of value from this book. Lastly, the best advice I could give, is to invest in this book because an investment in yourself is an investment you’ll never lose on! I’ve been interested in and traded Bitcoin and many other cryptocurrencies for several years. Good lord do I wish I had this book years ago!! This book gets right to the point, every chapter is incredibly useful and also incredibly witty and enjoyable to read. I especially appreciated the teachings on reading charts, and how to help spot the beginning or end of a trend. Book has paid for itself so many times over, I can’t even count the amount...1000 times over? Probably more. There are several big trades I got into or got out of because of what I saw in the charts after what I learned from this book. Thank you Glen! A year since I finished it, now I’m reading it all over again. Also, I had a few questions and emailed Glen, and he sent back the most thoughtful replies. Not sure if he’ll always have time to do that, but he was really generous helping to answer some questions I had. Thank you again, you’re a really lovely part of the crypto community. Anyone who is interested in trading Bitcoin or any cryptocurrency should definitely read this book. Also extremely helpful to follow Glen on Twitter (@glengoodman). I didn’t even know how to use Twitter before, but it was worth figuring out for his feed! He will often tweet about the current trends and charts, helping point out and explain where current resistance lines and patterns are forming for different crypto currencies in real time. I enjoyed this read. The first few chapters of how Glen got started was inspiring. While some of the information may contradict it's self some times, (i.e, use stop loss but many examples of his gains experienced substantial pull backs that weren't sold) everyone needs to understand that there is no guaranteed formula that always works. Glen teaches practical thinking habits and uses technical analysis probability to improve these habits. Good read for anyone just getting started in the stock market, not just crypto.

...the first part anyway. I'm a beginner with my feet barely wet in online trading, with even less crypto experience. I've seen my portfolio making steady gains, only to suffer crushing losses along the way. I've put money into scam crypto projects, and a few stillborn projects. I've found really good guidance in this book, but also a lot of encouragement from Glen's experience, as it reassured me that good successful traders also go through this stage. With the guidance, I see myself making better trades and investments going forward, and not just with crypto. Sorry i can't say how well the guidance has worked yet - see what bitcoin did in December2021 when i was only halfway through this book - but I know I have a more structured set of rules to follow. I just add that the book is well written, a fairly relaxed read with a bit of humour thrown in, and very few if any grammar problems. I highly recommend Crypto Trader.

I'm torn. On the one hand, it contains great general advice for trading crypto or anything, so for a beginning, that's killer info. It gives you a great framework. He goes over buy setups and sell signals, all of which the beginner will appreciate (it takes the guess work out!). The part that I'm torn about is that the tools he recommends using in chapter 8 for forecasting price are already outdated. Some are not available to new users (MarketRisk Index by Market Psych) and others have outright closed business (Pipster trading app). So although he gives you great ideas, as a beginner, I cannot find any tools to implement them. If the tools were there, this would be top notch, but given that I can't use them, I have great ideas I'd love to try and can't yet find a way to try them.

Ojeando el libro ves que la mitad del libro está contando la aventura de entrar en el mundo de las cripto..lo cual creo que sobra un poco teniendo en cuenta el título. Esperaba más la verdad.La otra mitad del libro habla de conceptos básicos de inversión que los aplica de forma agradable en divisas digitales como ETH o BTC, XRP etc... En este sentido para un lector ignorante no está mal, pero son conceptos que el mismo explica que toma de libros de análisis técnico de los años 80...entonces pues.. un remozado de datos antiguos en nuevos tiempos. Básicamente. En resumen, si no sabes de nada, no viene mal , pero tampoco es una bomba el libro. eso si, está muy bien escrito y bien narrado y muy ilustrativo.

This book is essential reading for anyone currently trading in the cryptocurrency market and wanting to learn more, or is planning to enter the crypto market. The author makes a big claim in his title 'How anyone can make make money trading Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies'. And he is right to make this claim. What attracted me to this book initially was the fact the writer was a Business Correspondent for the BBC News, ITV News London as well as being a guest lecturer at the London School of Economics. You don't get much more legitimate than that. He explains how the cryptocurrency market works, how to EASILY and SAFELY purchase Bitcoin and other 'altcoins', and - most important - when to sell. He does not advocate greed. He teaches systematic, non-emotional trading strategies that he has learnt over many years and that we, as readers, benefit from. (One of his theories is that you sell not at the very top of the market but just after the first dip - so you take slightly less profit - and just before the market crashes.) Best thing of all is that you don't need to know anything at all about cryptos. It is very well written in plain English, allowing anyone to understand how the market works and how to enter it. For someone who trades in the traditional share market this is the perfect book to make the transition to cryptocurrency. He uses a similar language and ideas to the share market (I now understand the mystery that is short selling!) and I am have recommended this book to several friends who want to start investing in cryptos. It is a surprisingly enjoyable read. My one regret is that I did not know about Glen Goodman earlier. I started trading cryptos in September 2017. By December 2017 I had quadrupled my initial investment. He makes the claim that he predicted the crash in December, 2017. I actually went and checked this out by going through his history on his Facebook page. It is true. And when others in the comments suggested he was panicking early, he stood by his position. And those who followed him, kept the money they made. I followed the pack and watched my newly acquired funds lose 85% of their value. I won't be following the pack again. I will be following Mr Goodman.

Having had a play with crypto's over the last 12 months, I wanted to add some more calculated methodology and strategy to my approach and I now feel that I have the building blocks to do that having read this book. I was already familiar with some of Glen’s work from his show on Share Radio and having heard him on investing podcasts, so I was therefore keen to hear his approach to crypto’s. His insight into trend trading was fascinating, really accessible and delivered with his usual light hearted sense of humour. A great starting point for any budding investor in crypto’s or other asset classes.
