1/4 x 12" x 12" Steel Plate, A36 Steel, .25" Thick

I bought this to use as a DIY pizza/baking steel, and it worked! I did a vinegar bath, followed by a baking soda scrub, followed by three high temp seasonings (search cast iron pan seasoning to learn how), and it came out great! Being steel, it is pretty heavy. It is a great value compared to buying pre-seasoned baking steels. For DIYers, this is a great option at a great price point!

Purchased for small oven use since this size isn't available commercially. Item arrived quickly, with slight ding at top corner and a scratch that revealed after cleaning, but were very minor & cosmetic. Barely noticeable. Otherwise, it was cleanly cut and to exact dimensions. After product cost and cost of cleansers, total expended came close to half the price of lowest retail cost for one of these cleaned and seasoned. The steel performed beyond my expectations - got super hot and stayed hot, but somehow did not burn my food! Weight is manageable for my needs, but I would not get any heavier. Great 1/4" steel plate. Very strong and the perfect base for installing a new seat on my tractor. Heavy weight steel . Excellent quality

Awesome price for these, any other steel plates I found comparable are multiple times the price. Used these to reinforce a hinge plate for a Chapin tow behind rotary spreader. Can take the full torsion weight now of the spreader; the ones that came with it are lightweight garbage that will warp upon any stress. These plates are beefy, just what I wanted. Angle grinder sucked to cut but maybe cause I was using harbor freight's Warrior cut off discs. Picked up a Diablo steel demon blade for the circular saw and cut through like butter. Was able to drill out holes using regular wood/steel drill bits & step bits to widen the hole for the hinge pin. Only needed one plate even though I bought 2. Not sure what I'll use the other one for; maybe some pellet gun targets?

This was a more economical and durable pizza/bread stone than you can buy, but it did take a lot of work to prepare. First I removed burrs on the edges with a file. Then I had to remove the black oxide layer that came on it using vinegar soaks. This was a lot of work. And then I had to immediately (because it rusts right away) coat it with oil and bake it to season it, thus creating a non corrosive, non stick layer. I kept wiping the top throughout the 1 hour cure process. Now it has a smooth, non stick layer on top and works great for bread and pizza. It basically turned my toaster oven into a deck oven.

This fits perfectly in the Ninja Woodfire Outdoor Oven. Great alternative to the stone provided with the oven. Steel produces a butter crunch on the bottom of pizza. The online trick of soaking the steel in vinegar works great to remove the scale. Then just a couple times of seasoning by coating with oil and bringing it up to temperature, makes it non-stick and rust-proof.
