The shafts are rigid and strong. They are great for cleaning.

I order cotton swabs by the case and have been using them for 38 years to clean optics on microscopes. The ONLY cotton swab that works for me is the Puritan 806-WC! The Puritan 806-WCL and Puritan 806-WCHospital are not the same. The cotton head puts out a film on the optics which takes 4-5 times longer to clean off causing the time spent on our jobs to be 4-5 times longer costing me time and money and the wood sticks break on at least 70 percent of the cotton swabs. The Puritan 806-WC are the only ones that get the job done! Don't purchase the wrong part number thinking they are the same.

These are the best cotton tipped swabs. The wooden sticks are a bit thin.

Quality product at a fair price. Wish each swab contained a bit more cotton on the end such as that found on a Q-Tip.

These are the only things that reach to remove tonsiliths and this is the only brand I’ll ever buy! They are strong and hard to break. I highly recommend.

I love these things. sometimes the wood does break a little easier than I'd like, but otherwise this works perfect for gun cleaning.
