Montana Cans Montana GOLD 400 ml Color, Shock Black Spray Paint,MXG-S9000, 13.5 Ounce (Pack of 1)

So, for someone like me who isn't particularly talented as far as spray paint technique, but can read basic details like what color this paint is and that there's a plastic safety ring under the nozzle you need to remove, this has worked surprisingly well. Unfortunately the entire line of Montana Gold spray paint has a much lower overall rating than it deserves because people apparently wanted to spend more money on a higher grade of spray paint, but not read a basic description. This spray paint is much better in terms of level of control and even application versus krylon and rustoleum spray paints in my experience. On my test run, shown in the picture, of what I wanted to use this for ultimately it worked a lot better than I expected. I want to use it to paint a GC controller and first tested it on the back half of one that was a little beat up and in particular the front half was badly cracked so it was no longer a good shell for a GC controller. After the results I got I'll definitely be using on a better shell as it came out great. On the final product I plan on using some hardcore automotive gloss finish to make sure it stays on and not chipped, etc during normal use of the controller. This color (Aqua) is closest I've personally been able to find compared to the "Emerald Blue" official Gamecube controller that wasn't official imported from Japan when it comes to high quality acrylic spray paint(I wouldn't use anything other than acrylic for a controller since I feel other types would to much thickness). Just to note I did first sand down the original controller using 400 grit sandpaper (enough to at least take off the original protective finish) and used white primer before applying this spray paint.

First, let me preface this review by letting EVERYONE reading this, I've used Montana brand spray paint MANY times. I have several cans in my spray paint collection and use it often! So I KNOW about the black ring that comes under the nozzle. Remove nozzle, remove ring, replace nozzle. That's how it's supposed to work....not this can! It's clearly defective as it will not stay on when I tried to replace it after removing the black ring. Paint sprays out from under the nozzle and goes everywhere!! My hands are currently slimer green!! Came to request a refund or replacement and find it's not eligible for EITHER!!! My bad...didn't read the description close enough....wouldn't recommend purchasing this paint from Amazon to my worst enemy...well maybe I would recommend it to them but everyone else steer clear from buy Montana spray paint from Amazon....it's way more expensive here...check out Blick Art for cheaper pricing and they have GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!

I've used this paint for tactical gear and 3D prints. Let it dry for two or three days once you're done painting and you're good to go.the colors are STELLAR. Coverage is out of this world compared to the super cheap options we're all used to buying at the hardware store. It does well with multiple coats. I layered multiple colors for a random custom dinosaur skin camo pattern and it worked great. I only waited maybe 10 minutes between coating the same spot and it worked fine. This might be my new favorite spray paint.

**Remove Shipping Tip Protection Ring Before Being Enraged That It Is A Defective Can. The low pressure action is superb. I'm painting a delicate 11"x6" wafer thin piece of slatted incredibly soft metal, hanging from a bungee chord for easy painting and minimal contact. It's primed with a gray base. The first coat was the quick-pass light tack coat, just to be safe. The 3rd coat I applied slower and slightly closer and slower. The closer you spray, the stronger effect. I was surprised how incredibly easy it is to use. There is no spitting or gas issues. In Cold Wather: I put the can in a freezer bag and in painters mixing cup with 160° water for at least 5 min. Degrease your project thoroughly, make sure it is as bone dry as possible. *I've noticed primer or paint will crack, wrinkle or repel, if you miss drying the edges, nukes & crannies completely from grease remover before painting. Sand multiple layered primer as multiple layers are prone to pit, peeling & uneven coverage. 600 800 **Check for pigtail swirls and long scratches on your primer. Once you put your first coat of color over primer with deep scratches and swirls, it is IRREVERSIBLE !! I found out the hard way after doing an expensive Candy paint project. *I'm wondering if a gloss clear will ruin the effect. 🤔

Using this for t Shoretrooper helmet build. The nozzle is absolute garbage. For a spray can that is so expensive I really can't believe how bad hte nozzle is. I've painted many other things, guitars, furniture and even car parts before with 'lesser' paints that have had better nozzles than this. I live in AZ, is hot and its pretty dry, weather conditions are perfect for spray painting but this thing went on terribly. Very splotchy , had to turn over can to 'clear' the nozzle and i even soaked it in mineral spirits a few times which did help but only momentarily. I rattled the can for a few minutes before using and I also pre warm them in hot water but this might have just set me back a lot. I'm going to give this another try , ordering another can , gonna have to just lay on really thick coats so there's less splotch. Its a shame cause the color is great, and its the perfect match for this build.

Great brand of products overall, and possibly got a dud, but paint spatters as spraying, from first use. Have tried all standard nozzle cleaning steps to no avail. I rate 4 Stars because this brand overall has provided great products in past experiences. Unfortunately due to the nature of this product, no return is permitted. 🤨

Farbe deckt sehr gut. Sprühverhalten allerdings trotz sachgemäßer Anwendung etwas ungleichmäßig.

Inconsistant finish, dusty in places, smooth in others (matt/satin). Has ruined a costume project and forced me to strip it all back to the surface and re-prime it. Frequently have problems like this with other Montanna-Brand products. Would not recommend for any fine work were finish quality matters.

Der Farbton ist genau wie oben an der Dose und hat eine sehr gute Qualität und ist sehr schnell trocken und man kann ihn über lackieren bzw nachlackieren. Kam in der angegebenen Zeit an und es war gut verpackt.
