Hate water shoes but need them for water activities? Then these are for you!!
I am very pleased with this purchase! I actually had an opportunity to wear a friend's pair a couple of times while on Sanibel Island walking the beaches collecting shells before I took the plunge and bought these. I have had numerous pairs of water shoes over the years and all of them ended up collecting sand after a day or two of use and rubbing spots on my feet raw (especially the tendons on the top of my feet). I was skeptical of these; I do not dive but I do snorkel whenever I can, and didn't think I wanted a boot (ugly tan lines?!?!) These changed my mind. The bottoms are thick enough to not make rocks and shells hurt underfoot yet flexible enough to be folded and thrown in a bag. They let some water in but they don't let sand in. But the best part is the seamless design - nothing rubbed!!!! My feet were in heaven (and if you've ever had blisters from wet shoes you know what I am talking about!) They rinse off easily and then just sit out to dry. I wash them at the end of the trip with some mild dish soap and water (the label says you can wash them in cold but I did it by hand in the sink). As for being a boot and tan lines.. they are a short boot so I did not find this to be an issue (which might matter to some of you reading this). The only negative I could anticipate for someone is if they had really swollen ankles; then I suppose there is the possibility of pinching at the top. The friend I borrowed a pair from has had them for about 5 years and her entire family loves them. They do retain their shape and run true to size, a little wider than a medium width shoe.

One size smaller is recommended
I bought these to mettal detect on Panama Beach Fl. this September. I follow "Detect Florida" on youtube and he wears the zipper up model but I got these slip ons and I wear a 101/2 to 11 shoe so order a 10. They are well made and fit GREAT up to my ankles. I believe these will keep the sand out as well when I hunt the dry and wet sand. I will be going into the surf though a little over waist deep. So far I'm impressed with the quality. Nice thick soles like a tennis shoe. Good support as well.

Nice booties
Very nice booties for diving with open heal fins. Fit well and very comfortable. I had the exact same before that was lost. These are exactly the same! Needed them fast for an upcoming dive trip and was able to get next day!

Good on Sand, Not So much on Ashphalt
These have a soft sole which works well on sand, and ok on concrete. I expect these are made for putting warm water dive/snorkel fins over them. They would be great for this. My error was expecting them to work on sideroads and parking lots.I got these for a trip to Hawaii instead of getting another pair cheap beach shoes (nylon mesh upper with a harder sole). These did survive the trip for another day but, seemed better suited to dive boats and sand. Walking on concrete to the beach was about the same experience as $10-15 beach shoes.Walking anywhere where there is gravel or small rocks hurts to wear since the sole is so soft. They are not made for like the side of an asphalt road with small rocks. For that, I would have been better of getting a name brand beach shoe for the same price.

Just what I wanted
Used the booties today for the first time. Easy to slip on, has adequate sole and works well in my diving fins. For the money I would recommend these.

Very comfortable and durable. You will never regret buying these boots
I love them and this is my third pair. They are very comfortable, easy to put on and to take out. I used the first one in my job, where i often have to walk on rocks before i start using it underwater with fins. It was so good that i kept it on, walking on asphalt or rocks, when i needed it, even if i wasn't going to dive immediately. After four years it shows a little wear on the sole, but i think it will last at least three or four years more. Maybe in professional intensive use, with continued walking on rough rocks (not normal use on a boat) it may last half of that time, but that means three years walking on rocks, and this is a lot of time!i bought a second pair for my free time, but i ordered the wrong size. Just one step bigger, still very elastic fitting but enough to make me feel uncomfortable with the extra length. As i like the feeling of exact fitting and security it gives i bought my third pair: perfect!I highly recommend this dive boots; worth every dollar. Just pay attention with sizes, and spend one minute more with the size table...

Excellent for a trip to the beach and snorkeling
Size: As others have indicated, I had to buy a size smaller than I wear usually. Doing this they fit well. I have a very wide foot and that wasn't a problem. They were snug enough to keep most sand out, even when going into the surf or in deep sand on the beach.I bought these for and used these on my recent trip to Maui. I used them to talk from the car to the beach and into the water for snorkeling. They are thick enough on the bottoms for walking over concrete, asphalt, small rocks, and other debris comfortably. If you are walking on bigger pointy rocks, you will want to exercise caution, but they still work well. They are an excellent addition to my beach and snorkeling equipment and will be coming along with me in the future.
