Good product, I will recommend it to anyone.

This was the 3rd cartridge I purchased for my printer. The 1st one (not an HP) did not have a chip and no directions on how to make it work. The 2nd one (not an HP) had a chip and still did not work. I bought #1 &2 because they were considerably less expensive. But, after all the hassle and frustration with the first two I bought the HP. BEST IDEA!! It was so EASY to install. Take it out of the package, take out the old cartridge, and put this one in! That's it! No parts to remove, no plastic to pull out, nothing! Just take it out of the container, remove old printer cartridge, slide this one in. I'll buy HP from now on. Its worth the money to not have all the hassle and frustration.

Consistently good - tried lesser off-brand options which were cheaper but hit or miss on quality - sticking with HP from here on out

This cartridge states it lasts 5,000 pages - it ran out on me and I'm 100% positive I was not near printing 5,000 pages. In two months I required three cartridges - something is not right. But to the defense of Amazon.com I have tried the same cartridge coming from HP and it also ran out very quickly. So it is the cartridge not Amazon.com. I'm now going to try the 89X to see if that is any better. Otherwise plan on 2,000 pages per cartridge and keep a lot on hand - you will need them.

Would buy again

Always happy with HP products, they are always a bit pricier than others but they do what I need them to do. These do come with the chip. I have bought the non chip off brand ones and they work just as great but they won’t work without the chip.
