I can only speak for the 2X, which I had purchased. I have a large back/shoulders area, typically having to purchase a size 20-ish to fit. This jacket in 2X fit me perfectly in the back area, but is quite billowy in the belly/waist/hips area, where I typically wear a size 14-16. Hope this helps!
