I tried a normal gait belt, and they are good for normal transfers, but when attempting to transfer an elderly parent from a wheelchair to a vehicle, such as an SUV, I found I needed more help. This belt is awesome. I found it to work best with two people, depending on the severity of the handicap. I can even use this belt by myself when necessary for getting someone from the wheelchair to the seat. The belt fastens easily, and it fits nicely, without being too tight or sliding up. The handles help tremendously and I feel that it is a safer transfer without the worry of falling. Have used it many times, for a weak 92 year old and it works well.

While wearing this gait belt, it creates a lot of body heat buildup due to the full body vest. My mom complained it was too hot. Also, the stitching started to come undone during first time use. I uploaded pictures for reference. The blue webbing material is really paper thin, not enough to hold onto and shoulder buckles uses teeth to clamp down on the material. I fear over time, this will just tear up the webbing. Better to try something that isn't so hot and something that feels more durable.

As dad's now primary caregiver, I'll try anything to make his life easier. I've used the gait belt with him for a few months. Found a few that are decent. Some of them tore at the belt loop/handle. Not happy about that. Saw this and thought it's got a lot of potential. So far, it's a win! We'll see over time how this holds up vs. just the gait belt.

The transfer harness/belt is well-made, good quality. Putting the harness/belt and getting it properly adjusted on is a bit tedious. Somewhat difficult to get the waist snug enough to prevent the harness from sliding up when using to lift patient from a sitting to a standing position. Product does work and is well made.

I ordered this for my mom, but it was too cumbersome for her as she is elderly and it isn’t easy to raise her arms for on/off. If your person wouldn’t have difficulty raising their arms to lift over their head, than I would 100% recommend. It is very, very secure. Lots of hand holds and secure yet adjustable fit.

Too many adjustments and hard to do with poor results- unstable grip on the person

Used product twice. Clips that go around to buckle in back are loose so we have already lost one due to it sliding off blue strap. The device is great but wish clip had been put on better.

My dad is not fat, just has a belly and it would not stay down where it should be.
